Alderaan’s First Mourner by Roberto Robert
Just remember, the Jedi do not tolerate Force users outside their order. It is because of them that you and I live in secret. Had they discovered you on Dathomir before I, they would have attempted to mold you into one of their own. A mindless, obedient servant for the Republic. Had they failed, they would have destroyed you.

She wrotethe famous confrontation between Padmé and Obi-wan;
Padmé being the one whodecided she and Anakin should be together behind the Jedi’s back.
Padmé and Anakin in bed and racingeach other to the shower
Anakin eating berries off Padmé’s naked body
Padmérescuing Obi-wan and Bail from a Sith planet.
Clone WarsGambit: Stealth and Clone Wars Gambit: Siege
Probably mytwo favorite Star Wars novels. KM gets all the character right but her Padmé isawesome. There are so many great scenes I couldn’t list all them here without spoiling the fun for everyone. So I’ll just say this:Anakin and Obi-wan are in trouble, the GAR and the Jedi can’t do much about itand while everyone is going “oh no! whatwe are going to do?” Padmé Amidala is already busy using all her politicalinfluence to raise a fucking private fleet to save her man.
In all hernovels Padmé is a balanced character. She’s a hopeless romantic worried sickabout her husband and a witty politician more than capable of holding her ownin a fight. Yet, Karen Miller’s Padmé always fights with her intellect not herfists.

Sorzus Syn
Sorzus Syn was former Jedi who fled from the Order because the Jedi Council had banned her and her comrades from studying the dark side of the Force. This led to the Dark Jedi to attempt to overthrow the Order which became known as the Hundred-Year Darkness. Due to her dark side alchemy, Syn became one of the top commanders of the Dark Jedi. Despite all their efforts, the Dark Jedi were defeated at the Battle of Corbos. Syn and the eleven other surviving Dark Jedi were forced into exile soon after. They soon landed on the Sith homeworld of Korriban and enslaved the natives there. The Dark Jedi would christen themselves the first of the Sith Lords and instituted a new order that was centered around the worship and practice of the dark side of the Force. During her time on Korriban, Syn kept a diary chronicling the Jedi Order founding on Tython, the Hundred-Year Darkness, her arrival on Korriban, and the tradition of the Sith. She was also believed to have been the authored the Sith Code. Part of her diary was kept in the archive of the Jedi Temple. After the Second Jedi Purge, the book came into the possession of Darth Sidious, who included it in the Book of Sith.

Form VII: Juyo and Vaapad
Form VII (Juyo and Vaapad, the Way of the Vornskr, the Ferocity Form) is the seventh and final form recognized by the Jedi Council. Going all the way back to the Old Republic, the Juyo incarnation was known as the most vicious form of lightsaber combat and required strong mentality and great strength. It was completely based around offense and used high-energy staccato sequences. The attacks are more open kinetic than Form V but not as elaborate as Form IV. The physical requirements were nothing compared to the mental requirements of studying Juyo. The practitioners were required to fuel their energy with aggressive feelings. Juyo was very controversial with the Jedi Order, as they felt that it required too much passion and could lead the practitioner to the dark side. The Sith would have no trouble giving themselves to Juyo, and Darth Sidious would later called it the “Sith Style”. Around the time of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Mace Windu created the Vaapad style of Form VII. Vaapad was described as more a state of mind than a fighting style. It would push the user to the very edge of the dark side and required the enjoyment of the fight. The user would become a superconducter that channeled the opponents fury back at them. A Vaapad user’s attacks would flow with liquid precision, creating the appearance of multiple blades by an untrained opponent. The main downside to both variants, however, is since it requires so much focus and emotion into the blade work, it is weak against force-based attacks. Notable practitioners are Darth Sidious, Rahm Kota, Mace Mindu, and Depa Billaba.
“Six there were for generations of Jedi. The seventh, is not well-known. Powerful form it is. Deadliest of all. But dangerous it is, for its master as well as its opponent.” - Yoda

Form VI: Niman
Form VI (Niman, the Way of the Rancor, the Moderation Form, The diplomat’s form) was the sixth lightsaber form created for combat. Niman incorporates elements from all previous lightsaber forms, covering many of the basic moves. The result creates a fighting style that does not give a significant advantage, but does not have any significant drawbacks. Niman uses a fairly relaxed focus on bladework that could be mastered relatively easier compared to the other forms. This would allow Jedi to focus on other skills like studying and diplomacy. To compensate the lack of specialization in Niman, the incorporation of chaining Force-based attacks are encouraged. Another advantage practitioners would use was the study of dual-blades. Niman’s success was dependent on the user’s intuition and creativity in combat, rather than the root advantages brought by the other forms. Notable practitioners were Exar Kun, Revan, Starkiller, and General Grevious.
“The Jedi Council maintains that Form VI best suits the role of contemporary Jedi Knights. After all, a Jedi Knight who is overly trained in martial combat might be at a loss to resolve a complex conflict or a sensitive trade disagreement” - Cin Drallig

Form V: Shien and Djem So
Form V (Shien & Djem So, The Way of the Krayt Dragon, The Perseverance Form) was the the fifth form of lightsaber combat recognized by the Jedi Council. This form was created by Soresu practitioners to answer its lack of offensive capabilities. This form is split into two variants: Shien and Djem So. Shien leans more toward blaster fire deflection, but is used more offensively than Soresu. It’s all about aiming the blast back at the shooter or other targets. Shien uses tight moves, defense covers and searching for opportunities for counter attacks. Many say that Shien is essentially Soresu with a Makashi mentality. The downside, however, is that it is weak against single opponents. Djem So is optimized for lightsaber combat and is the most physically demanding form of the seven. It is strength-oriented combat that relies on powerful offense and strong defense. Djem So tries to overpower the opponent with brute force and is thus usually the form used by Sith Lords. Since it is so focused on strength, this form lacks mobility and the stamina of the practitioner can be worn out quickly. Notable practitioners are Darth Bane, Darth Vader, Darth Malgus, Ulic Qel-Droma, and Adi Gallia
