One time I went on a date with a guy who stared at me with raised eyebrows while I told him about my plan to go to ComicCon as Daphne Blake, and then he scoffed and said it was weird for me to be so into Scooby Doo at the age of 19. Last year I told my boyfriend (before he was my boyfriend) that next time I got ComicCon tickets I wanted to go as Rapunzel, and he gasped and said "NO WAY I WANTED TO GO AS FLYNN RIDER". So, like, not only is talking about your hyperfixations on an early date a good way to learn quickly if someone is going to treat your whole personality with respect or not, you might also find a kindred spirit.

This doesn't just apply to dating btw. Any platonic acquaintance who acts like you're cringe for having a lot of enthusiasm about something is not someone you want in your life. The people who matter will do things that you want to do with you because they love you and like when you are happy. Case in point I could not have paid my high school official-best-friend to spend four and a half hours in London's Natural History Museum taking photos in the whale gallery but my adulthood best friend agreed in a heartbeat despite knowing the bare minimum about whales.

I've had an extra ureteral tube since birth and about three years back it almost erupted. as a result, i had surgery for ureteral reconstruction! they took the extra tube out, rearranged the one beside it, and it was only 4 hours! ...I had to stay overnight, but it was pretty cool cause the doctors and nurses were nice. especially this one lady who drew my Tails plushie and watched Psych with me by using the swingy computer in the room. she was super nice and we got into an argument about High School Musical (which I will never like tbh) and asked me how i couldn't like Zac Efron. it was playful, yet heated to say the least. after i was released from their care, i wasn't able to walk right and i had patches on my skin i couldn't remove. mama had to help me shower and do daily things, but the cool thing was that i got this big unicorn plush as a joke from my pa and i still sleep with it to this day. then my cousin came the day after i left and sat on my surgical scar. luckily nothing happened, but it was like unlocking premium+ to my period cause I WAS BAD ENOUGH BUT SHE JUST HAD TO GO AND SIT ON IT and wow i just dropped some massive surgical lore--i'mma just shut up now.

When I was in middle school and early in my high school years, I ran an Instagram fan account for musicals, and I made a really good friend through it. They were my first online friend and one day I got nervous my mother found out about my secret account and panicked deleted it without remembering my friend's username. I still think about them and miss them dearly, and I often think how weird (and possibly concerning) it was for me to just delete my account so quickly without notice. I still hope to find them one day.

I always get a little bit sad when I go to the theatre to see a show because I know for a fact that if my University didn’t shut down their BFA program right now I would be doing everything I love as a Stage Manager.
