Whenever he encounters proof that this is not the case, he's unable to reconcile the reality of his dogmatic beliefs with the self-conception he has of a man without any dogmatic beliefs.

So he ends up stuck in completely indefensible positions, arguing that cloning causes telomeric regeneration (it doesn't), or that breast removal isn't a type of surgery (it is).

Hormone Replacement THerapy was originally developed to treat conditions like menopause, puberty blockers were discovered due to research into pallitive care options for prostate cancer, etc.
