Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

EDIT: Wisely pointed out in the time since posting -

I was incorrect... The collarbone is actually included in the 'fat doesn't stick to joints' rule, even if it helps softening the body. I think it's productive to remember fat people can be all bony and knobby.

The fat distribution map is also a beginner's guide, and the variance in body shape archetypes (pear shape, hourglass shape, etc) also applies to fat people. Everyone is built a little different.

Interesting 1983 passive solar home built in Conesville, NY by a NYC couple that had a dream/vision, and it was featured in Country Living magazine. 2bds, 2ba, 2,000sqft, $499k.

The path to the house is so pretty.

Entrance foyer with a glass block wall.

The inner door looks like architectural salvage.

This is quite lovely, b/c you can see the sunroom.

Large open space is a combination living/dining/kitchen.

The kitchen has its own area, but the low walls enable you to see the whole living space.

In the living area they have a nice, big stone fireplace.

Sliders open to the deck that surrounds the entire house.

Look at the little area in the corner. I guess that you can use it for anything you like. A small office or studio?

It's a nice flex space.

Large bath off the main living area.

Big laundry room and storage pantry.

I like the sunroom the best. It's actually like a little greenhouse.

Cute little room to sit in or use as a studio, etc.

There's even a little sink and some storage under the stairs.

The stairs lead up to the bedrooms. Love the mezzanine overlooking the space below.

It's large enough for some seating so that you can look out the windows.

The primary bedroom has a large stone fireplace.

Such a spacious bath.

The 2nd bedroom is lovely. It's big and has a built-in headboard for the bed.

This is very nice. They made so that you have a great view.

The 2 car garage looks like it has potential for an apt. upstairs.

Wow, did they leave that wonderful antique fridge behind?
