cannot stop thinking about how Sora is purely himself for the first time in 12 years. he had so many people in his heart and now it's just himself. it's already shown in his appearance - his hair change is clearly modeled after his baby self, before Ven came into the picture. it's just Sora now. and he is entirely alone.

Yes, but also to add: this gif leaves out the critical choice to focus on Sora’s face when the camera switches to Riku’s POV here. Not only is the landing slowed down to emphasize how awesome this moment is, but Sora lifting his head up is slowed down as well. We as the audience see the full landing. Riku, however, is staring at Sora’s face.

And I just can’t think of any reason to do this other than to communicate some attraction. The slow-mo could’ve stopped where the gif ends and the takeaway would easily be ‘Riku is in awe of Sora.’ That’s it. Instead, the camera lingers on Sora’s face, his side profile, the lashes of his closed eyes, as water droplets hang in the air like sparkles or bubbles. Sora looks not only powerful here but pretty—before he flashes Riku a grin with a cheerful, “I made it!” Time resumes, the water falls, as Riku snaps out of it.

Basically, the use of slow-mo in this scene slides from “stunning entrance/cool superhero landing” as Sora drops into the fight right when Riku needs him into something that bears more resemblance to the “Crush Filter” trope, and it certainly is. A choice. Anyway, happy pride Riku Kingdomhearts

Hello Kingdom Hearts fandom I'm back with my low effort doodles. I can't be normal after that trailer I had to channel my excitement somehow

Vali, Ava(?), and possibly Sigurd is such huge news for KH4, but I'm still caught up on YXehanort and Sora. Oh my god. My immediate thought was a friendship/mentor arc, since Xehanort was the one to officially bequeath Sora the X-blade before reverting to YZ and ascending to purgatory with his boyfriend [side note - Young Eraqus in KH4 maybe? I need 200 fanfics of them living a domestic and a little toxic roommate life in Quadratum okay.] So, assuming theres no memory shenanigans at play and Xehanort remembers Everything. I wonder if he's somewhat good now, or still a possible antagonist? I'm super nervous since Sora has been struggling with his darkness, and Xehanort has seen that. During his final fight in KH3 when he stripped Sora of light, and all that was left was a violent darkness [rage form]. With his time in darkness, Xehanort could either help him control it, or he will try to nurture it. Either way, this is now 3 guys with white hair after Sora. Riku - please get your boyfriend Yozora - Questionable intentions. Froze Sora then vowed to save him in the same breath. Xehanort - AAAA!?!?? ?!?!?!? ??! Just a funny thought to me EDIT: Oh my gosh forgot to mention the fact that Sora is on his KNEES. Iirc, we only really see him on his knees when he's crying. The only examples that come to mind is when he fell to his knees crying in front of Riku KH2, and when he fell to his knees sobbing after losing everything in KH3 I don't know, I might be looking too much into it, but I'm 80% sure Xehanort is going to slink out of the darkness during Sora's major time of need.

The way Sora opens keyholes in KH2 keeps popping up in my mind. This might have already been said, or everyone might know this already, but alas! my little blog beckons me again.

What a very specific symbol! The gateways/keyholes are hidden, and before the keyhole appears, the crown makes itself known! Perhaps its The Necklace making the gateways clear, guiding Sora to his next world. Riku's necklace guiding Sora, hmmm? 🧿 TLDR: yaoi.

I want to say Kingdom Hearts, but! With heartless/unversed/nobodies having the chance of popping up during my day to day life, assuming I don't have a keyblade, I would probably end up like that one guy who died in front of Sora during KH1. Plus worlds can go to sleep/be comsumed by darkness so I could kinda just loose my home one day. Or I could accidently somehow end up in a data world and my entire life would depend on some guy named Brain. Other than that, Living in Twilight Town or Destiny Islands sounds really fun. Personally, I'd prefer Destiny Islands! Realistically, I would LOVE to live in Stardew Valley 🍉

Oh goodness, no. Back when I first played KH2, I got so stuck on Xaldin while playing normal mode. Not even Mickey could save me! However, there was one time when I got him down to one hp, and I scrambled to hit the final blow... and then I died. I was SO mad that I gave up that playthrough. [It was very satisfying beating him first try on easy mode. 🍔]
