Bruce Wayne wakes up in the past, five months after Jason Todd died, and spends most days sat beside the grave because he never found out exactly when Jason had come back and he wanted to be there to save him when he did.
From an outside perspective, everyone is extremely concerned.
“Bruce, can you come inside? It’s starting to rain and we don’t want you to get sick.” Dick tried to pull Bruce up but he refused to budge. “Bruce! I know you miss Jason but you can’t keep torturing yourself like this!”
“Bruce, you’re worrying us. Please just come inside, I can’t handle seeing you like this,” Dick begged him. “Tim and Stephanie are worried sick about you, Alfred has been working himself to the bone trying to figure out how to help you, Bruce please.”
“I have to be there for him, I have to be there for him this time. I won’t leave him alone again, never again.” Bruce whispered to Dick.
Before Dick could say anything a hand came out of the ground. Dick would say he let out a manly scream, and Bruce would say otherwise. Bruce grabbed the hand and pulled, and out from the ground came Jason Todd, resurrected from the dead. “Bruce?” Jason rasped out, his throat dry and hoarse.
“I’m here Jason, I’m here. I’m not leaving.” Bruce hugged Jason close to him and Dick could only look on in shock.
Bruce keeping a tighter and tighter lid on his identity around the Justice League because with each new person to reveal their identity he realizes that he has fucked far too high a percentage of his co workers as Bruce Wayne and he has to take this secret to his grave
tim, on day three of no sleep, and reaching the point of zero filter: tbh, your death was easily avoidable if you just hit your mom up through, like, email or something - i still don’t understand why you thought flying to another continent was a good idea
jason: …
tim: maybe i should learn to keep my mouth shut…
jason: oh really replacement? how’dya figure that one out?
Supernatural was insane because what do you mean that Dean Winchester was on his knees, not fighting back, telling Cas that he loved needed him??? And the walls of Naomi's office turned bisexual???

Does anyone have any Gotham Is Just Like That fic recs? Anything from a major plot point to something that’s stated as understood worldbuilding, nothing to see here.
What I mean by Gotham Is Just Like That:
-this fic I once read where a random old lady beat the joker to death with her purse and approximately 200 witnesses pretended to have not seen it
-yeah, yeah, the chemicals in the water, everyone’s heard of them
-Justice league tries to come to Gotham but the vibes are so rancid they have to leave
-“you got everything packed? Lunchbox, homework, gas mask, steel toe boots, pencil case?” “Oh no I forgot my pencil case”
-my prof was out so she called her friend from grad school Poison Ivy to teach class today and honestly she was a pretty good teacher
Etc.
Bruce: Batman will be a cryptid. An urban legend, designed to strike fear in the hearts of criminals.
Bumper stickers in Gotham City:
"Batman ate my entire ass at a Big Belly Burger"
"Half man. Half bat. All friend."
"Batman is real. We made out. He is a gentle and caring lover."
Bruce: ... Alfred, I think I made a mistake.
You’re a Gotham teenager playing FMK on your neighbor’s stoop as you do.
“Hmmmm… and marry Red Hood.”
“Red Hood?” says one of your friends. “Doesn’t he kill people?!”
You consider.
“That’s not a deal breaker for me.”
And then, from somewhere above, a distinctive mechanical voice:
“IT FUCKING SHOULD BE!”
You look up. Red Hood is dangling a spitting and hissy Robin over the edge with one hand and gesturing helplessly at you with the other. You stare at him. He stares at you. You don’t know how his face emotes “baffled but concerned for you horror” seeing as it’s covered completely by an expressionless helmet, but it does.
Robin chomps down on Red Hoods fingers.
“FUCKING FUCK!” Red Hood drops Robin over the edge. “DID YOU BITE ME?!”
Robin lands one roof over like a feral cat. He stands up with just as much offended dignity. “I was trained to make use of every tactical advantage,” he states.
Then he waves something small and indistinct from your distance. “Unlike you.” And swings off the roof.
Red Hood roars and chases after him.
There is a moment of distinctly Gotham silence.
“You made the right choice.”
You jump a foot and find Red Robin perched on the railing like some kind of overgrown parrot.
“Hood’s the only one of us who can cook,” explains Red Robin.
He gives you a single nod—and disappears.
…
Just another day in Gotham.
Someone draw Bruce wayne wearing this
@jube-art @oifaaa
I think it is extremely funny how New Jersey, the state Gotham is located in, is the only state where it's illegal to pump your own gas.
Apparently it's "Because of the fire hazards directly associated with dispensing fuel[...]"
Any Gothamite would be shaking their head at this.
They are used to attacks on Gotham by rogues on a daily basis. Just living in that city puts them at risk for dying in a gruesome way. Fear toxin, Joker Gas, getting frozen in ice, you name it.
But they aren't trusted to pump their own gas?
And the poor gas station attendants.
I bet they judge the supervillains based on how they treat service workers.
You stand at the gas station and Red Hood rolls up?
Yeah, they know him. He's nice. Yeah, they know how he opperates, so what? He bitched with Freya about her ex when they'd just broken up. He gave Alex a good tip when he'd mentioned how he had to work on his birthday.
