Please. Someone. Anyone. Please.
*pretends Iâm reblogging this for fun but Iâm really reblogging this because Iâm super fucking paranoid*
older american fans of the olympics are Big Mad about some of these young/outspoken athletes. chloe kim tweeting inbetween her runs, adam rippon being sassy and himself in interviews, red gerard dropping f bombs because of his excitement for a gold medal. theyâre so mad because older, conservative fans of the olympics see athletes as belonging to them, a prop in their extreme nationalism and a way to be better than other countries. but these athletes are here for themselves, for their own dreams, with their own personalities and reactions and none of these conservatives know how to handle it. they hate that chloe kim was proud to ride for both south korea and america, they hate that red gerard overslept, they hate that adam rippon is outspoken about his dislike of pence, that gus kenworthy is as well.Â
too bad so sad, buddy.Â
anyway, 2018âČs olympians are Special and i would Die For Them thanks for coming to my ted talk.
#that mirai nagasu isnât a white girl#that the shib sibs are proud to be immigrants in any capacity#they hate it and iâm living for it
Iâm an âold fanâ in the sale that Iâm old enough to remember the old scoring method in figure skating and despise the new one but young enough to be living for the increased diversity in the sport.
It is our duty as feminists to protect and respect women in Hijabs
Now. More. Than. Ever.
Question: if I see someone pull off a Hijab, what should I do? I know there are reasons they are worn so I want to if i should stand in between them and who did this, should i protect them from view somehow, or something else? This has been happening a lot so I feel itâs something everyone needs to know.
Good question! I cannot correctly and effectively answer, as I am a white, non-Muslim person; however, I will reblog in case any of my followers can answer.Â
I asked my Hijabi friend, so hereâs one Hijabiâs answer:Â
âmy opinion is, definitely try cover them or give them something to cover themselves with. And perhaps shoo off the person, without putting oneself in danger! God forbid, if that happened to me, I would like someone to come and comfort me and give me something to cover my hair with and then help me report it to the cops â
(Followers, if any of you are hijabi and would like to expand on this answer or offer alternatives, please do.)
If u see it happen to 1 of us, pls cover our head + hair with a coat or shawl or any piece of cloth, while hugging us in comfort. Please donât get hurt by lashing out @ the perpetrators in any way, coz if they dare to do that, theyâre probably too far gone in their own hatred to listen to any reason. Much love + Thank You to anyone who supports us.
yes !! everything said here is important af. if you see someone pull off a girlâs hijab immediately cover her hair and provide comfort. donât talk to the perpetrator but try to get the woman out of there if you can. maybe if you have a scarf on you at the time give it to her so she can wear it until sheâs alone and can replace her hijab. please please protect muslim girls because we already had it hard before donald trump became president and now its gonna be worse with people going around thinking their violence and cruelty is justifiedÂ
for my other white ppl who might have a hard time, itâs my understanding that a hijab is like a major item of clothing, not an accessory like a hat or a scarf. so think abt it more like if someone just ripped someoneâs shirt or skirt off. u donât want to be left there exposed or have to walk home without it.
everyone, even outside America needs to protect our Muslim sisters in these times.
as a man, what would be the best thing to do? should i turn my head and avoid looking at their hair? can i still offer a jacket or something similar?
^Iâm hoping someone has an answer islamaphpbia is on the rise in my town and I want to be a good male non Muslim ally
For men, yes please, we would prefer it if you avoided looking at our hair, and if we donât have something to substitute as a hijab at that moment, anything you could lend us, a jacket, etc, would be very appreciated.
Also, since most girls avoid physical contact with men theyâre not related to, please do not hug them, but rather shoo the offender away if you can, or at least escort the girl to a safe place. You can still offer words of encouragement and support. Furthermore, understand that the victim may not be very welcoming towards you because sheâll obviously be shaken, and wonât know where you are coming from. If thatâs the case, please still give her something to cover herself (hijab is very important, think of it as someone ripping your shirt off) and stand some distance away until you are sure sheâs in safe hands.
Thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it, god bless all of you.
In the horrible climate weâre currently in, please take note of this.
Reblogging this again for the guy-instructions
Same
Problem 1: âDeath at 0 HP is all too sudden and too deadly for meâ
Problem 2: âDeath at -10 HP is too predictable, players can easily make guesses as to how long until characters die and act around it, thereâs nothing shocking and unexpected about being at -1 and SLOOOWLY bleeding our until -10 or until rescued. Feels like I was knocked out by a nerf bat rather than stabbed by a sharp and dangerous sword.â
Problem 3:Â âThereâs spells like Regenerate and Cure Blindness to restore limbs and body parts, but thereâs very little that specifically inflicts that kind of damage in the game. These spells donât see that much use and itâs a shame.â
Problem 4: âI like the idea of a character being forced to retire by a serious wound or loss of a limb. Like, you donât adventure âtill youâre dead. Old retired adventurers can become NPCs and mentor the new characters and I think that thatâs a cool thing that doesnât happen as often as Iâd like.â
Problem 5:Â âI just want to fuck my players up. Like, big time. Also extreme descriptions of violence are hilarious to me.â
Hereâs your solution! Have a fancy Death & Dismemberment table for Dungeons & Dragons to make your players justly terrified of being near or at 0 HP.
(Please note that there definitely are vastly better Death&Dismemberment tables out there and this is just my take on the subject.)
(Also please note that this was written with AD&D1e in mind, but itâs really pretty universal for most editions I think.)
Problem 6: I really want to incorporate disability into my fantasy world and need to dismember some PCs so everyone can appreciate my baller fantasy prosthetic designs.
A student who survived the Florida school massacre condemns anyone talking about âthoughts and prayersâ at this point: âWeâre children. You guys are the adults. You need to take some action and play a role.â
Honestly, Iâm sick to my stomach.
Now thatâs how you ally. Thatâs putting it on the line and showing solidarity. Thatâs how you use your white privilege for good.
âItâs nice to go out and march, we can do that. Itâs nice to wear black at the Golden Globes, but what are you doing behind closed doors?â - Jada Pinkett Smith
Itâs easily one of the cleanest examples of intersectional feminism Iâve seen in a minute. Itâs the polar opposite of white feminism, where white women are concerned primarily with the wellbeing and advancement of other white women. If more white men and women stood up and demanded basic fairness instead of just talking about itâand not just in Hollywoodâwe might really begin to impact racism and close the pay gap that always gets inflicted upon black people in most careers.
Not wanting to be touched because youâre upset about something (even if itâs unreasonable!) is not passive aggressive. Something triggered this and itâs valid.
Being touch adverse sometimes, and not other times, doesnât mean that when youâre in a touch adverse mood youâre being a bad person.
Your body is not reward or punishment. Itâs your body and your space. If there is a problem between you and partner/friend, their worry should be about communication and not about access to your body!

Holy shit
what if people we consider pack rats or collectors today were actually just dragons in disguise, building their hoards?
âI am a dragon. And this is my hoard.â
âYou⊠donât look like a dragon.â
âWell, hardly anyone does, these days. Times have changed, we have too. The scales and tails thing worked with the dinosaurs, but we learned quite quickly that⊠that wasnât going to fly with you people.â
âYou were around all the way back to the dinosaurs?â
âWell, not like⊠me personally. How old do you think I am?â
â⊠Thereâs no safe answer to that.â
âNo.â
âSo⊠when you say this is your hoardâŠ?â
âAll dragons have them. Some stick to the old gold and jewels thing, but thatâs so cliche these days. Most of us like our hoards to be a little bit more sophisticated than âshiny.ââ
âLike what?â
âI have known dragons to collect snowflakes from the first fall of the year over dozens of centuries. I know dragons that collect petals of flowers left on the graves of loved ones. Dragons that keep and care for soft toys and comfort items, left behind as children grow up. Dragons that guard happy memories and shards of sunlight, kept safe for rainy days. And me, I keep a sanctuary of words. A bastion of language, of poetry. Of written music and achingly beautiful prose. I am the Guardian of this monument to linguistic majesty. I collect stories of love and life and death and mourning and joy. There is nothing more beautiful in all the world, no coin or gem or sliver of starlight more fantastic than a well-told tale. A story is this worldâs truest treasure, and what better chest for it than a book?â
âWow. So these things⊠really mean a lot to you, huh?â
âMore than anything in this world.â
âSo⊠I probably canât borrow your copies of Discworld, can I?â
âYou absolutely fucking cannot.â
Being abused can seriously affect your ability to distinguish between ânot obviously pleasedâ and âobviously displeasedâ because abusers go from Neutral to Hostile for absolutely no discernible reason, and eventually you start worrying that everyone is going to be like that and you start feeling this urge to make absolutely sure that the people you actually care about arenât mad or upset, because to you, âthereâs no evidence that theyâre not angryâ is the same as âthereâs evidence that they are angryâ
