today’s Art Twitter Discourse is everyone melting down cause someone made a vent comic about how the algorithm favors sex and trends(making them feel that their work is meaningless since it doesn’t sell) and dogpiling said artist to high hell, oblivious to how their responses proved the comic to be right since slinging shit at them caused it to become a trend around art circles

i empathize with the guy cause i feel the same kind of envy myself from time to time, but in particular i just get so fucking annoyed when this genre of discourse comes around. literally every few months some small artist expresses frustration with the system of clout and cliques, then all the big artists across the site just punch down at them while also circlejerking with their big artist mutuals with no self-awareness
