there’s been 8 murders in my town within the last two weeks, i saw i hit and run the other day, and my friend saw someone get stabbed this week

I agree I think it’s weird to think about it that way, and it’s a bit weird to me that apparently for some people it was the “mystery” that kept them invested? Rather than them as people and/or their content? Plus, even if we didn’t have labels ands such it was pretty fucking obvious that they were queer for anyone who cared to look and even for many who barely did so uh. Anyway they’re not a tv show.

i don’t think ppl have intentionally processed dnp coming out the same way the would as a story progression in a movie or tv show but ,,, that is definitely something that has happened. while these are actual real lives of actual real people, for some, everything they’ve done as been read as some sort of start to finish gay mystery novel. well, the mystery has been solved so now ppl either want a sequel or are ready to move onto something new completely. 

while i do think the slow in content has played the biggest part in ppl leaving the phandom, there’s undoubtedly a fraction of ppl out there who got bored trying to maintain a parasocial relationship with novel-esque expectations on complex real life ppl bc not too surprisingly, that’s going to disappoint you.
