nonwhite gender envy/transition goals appreciation :) feel free to add your own!
Instead of paying heed to what a white cis dutch man and transfem chaser has to say about the experiences and existence of transgender men, consider donating to Dem Bois, a non-profit charity that supports trans men and transmasculine people of color.
Dem Bois supported me, a Mestizo trans man, during the covid lock down by sending me a care package that helped me countine in the stuggle of survival.
In addition to care packages, Dem Bois also provide grants for chest reconstruction surgery and genital reconstruction surgery.
This is your daily reminder that trans men are the authority of our existence and that the people who know the most about existing and surviving as a trans man, are in fact, trans men.
So, it you've ever spoken over trans men about our lives, our experiences, our oppression, our community, and our conflicts and realize that you need to make amends for the damages you've done to our community by trying to redact our reality to make it fit in your cisnormative worldview, the donation link is here.
Saw someone using these today trying to be intersexist on another one of my posts 😔😔 had to make this!
And here they are together! I had the honor of doing Slay The Princess tattoos for a super cool couple.
I’m so proud of how they turned out
Something I think is super interesting and not really talked about as a specific kind of racialized person (asian and native mixed) as a trans man is the fact that like... I feel like I've been masculinuzed and then feminized after the fact.
I know black men women and nonbinary folks are often hypermasculinized in white supremacy. I felt hypermasculinized when I was girlmoding growing up. I didn't publically come out until 18, it was a private thing with my small friend group. And before then in my teenage years, as a young brown Asian & native person perceived as a "girl" in a white area I had absolutely zero solidarity with the women and girls I was around. I was deemed dangerous, potentially aggressive. Overly sexualized despite the fact as a tomboy I wore nothing but boys clothes anyway. When I fell in with small groups of cis boys who accepted me, that was seen as me putting myself on the market sexually by my girl peers. I'd get passive aggressive comments any time I tried wearing makeup occasionally about how "my lips were too big so I'd go through lipstick really fast" and such and such.
Since transitioning, now that I'm seen as a smaller guy, still asian and native, I've had a big feminizing effect in the reverse way. I'm now an uwu femboy. Growing my hair long for cultural reasons is feminized. I've been told by other queer folks that my chosen name is TOO masculine for me, that I should have gone with something more neutral. Being called a twink doesn't bother me much since I do ID as one, but when people do it constantly it does come off a certain way.
And yet still I feel almost zero solidarity with women now that I'm an uwu twinky gay boy, cuz they tend to be overly invasive of my private personal affairs (God help me the fujosh!s man).
Just interesting and kinda frustrating and tiring I think.
(on a post about issues faced as a tmoc) saw this comment and it really hits the spot abt my thoughts on this lol
Genuinely do not understand why non transmascs have so much fucking audacity to speak on OUR experiences as if youve lived them. NO the ONE transmasc friend you have doesnt give you authority to speak on our lived experiences. Especially if theyre white. I keep seeing this phenomenon where someone will say something objectively untrue to generalize the experiences of trans men and mascs and then back it up with the experience and of their one white trans friend and then completely ignore the experience of DOZENS of transmascs in the replies. If youre arguing about any supposed “privilege” we have and you prop up the two white self-identified ‘TME’s’ who chimed in to agree with you while simultaneously ignoring dozens to HUNDREDS of other transmascs (ESPECIALLY tmoc) trying to tell you about their experiences… idk how to tell you that youre just a racist bigot.
