I’ve 100% talked about it before but the potential fucked-up complexity of morty and Rick prime’s relationship continues to pummel me to my wit’s end. whether either or them like it or not, they are both tethered to each other in a way that predates our Rick’s involvement. or rather, predates morty getting into the sidekick business with our Rick. like, they are blood-related to each other. they’re each other’s only honest-to-god last living relatives. they come from the same dimension.
for the most part, it’s decently easy to predict how a scene between Rick and Rick prime might play out in terms of personality, but morty and RP? the only thing I’m certain about is that they’re not going to go the brash route of RP gaining humanity and suddenly deciding he cares about morty legitimately for whatever reason. bc RP clearly doesn’t care about morty and shouldn’t start— but there are so many interesting ways the crew could go about expressing that. will he just completely ignore morty, let him brew in the sidelines? sorta just wave him off because he’s just a kid and isn’t worth the effort? will he drag morty into this simply because it’s be a blast to take someone who is clearly such an emotional crutch from C-137??? will RP grow fond of morty in the way a kid callously likes a new toy purely for entertainment value before disposing it for a newer, grander one down the line?
and all of this is not even considering how morty himself would feel about it. not to say i think morty would go as far a to feel a connection to RP or want to foster one, but I do think the thought of murdering the sole other survivor of his dimension may twist him up inside more than he’d like to admit, in an existential horror sense more than anything else. in a weird way, RP’s death will completely cement Morty’s place in his new life and family— because there would quite literally be nothing in his past left to return to should he wish to. strangely, Rick primes death would kickstart an era of acceptance, for the way things are and will continue to be— for both Rick and morty.
Um ^_^'

Do you like cake? 🦦
I have a house elf for all kitchen duties.
As for cake...I dislike most sweets, so not particularly.
