Baseball's main issue is that he doesn't want to choose a side between Nickel and Suitcase, thus causing him to not hold Nickel accountable and come off as disingenuous to Suitcase.

He wants to hear both of them out on Balloon when he can't really. Do that. He doesn't like Balloon and thus some what agrees with Nickel and excuses his actions, but also wants to respect Suitcase's choice to be friends with him.

He's stuck between two people he cares about and ultimately is just making the problem worse by not choosing a side, not standing up for himself and Suitcase.

It's unhealthy for him and Nickel and even worse for Balloon and Suitcase.
