I've been WAITING to get to this ask because I have not done a lot of Jamie scenarios as much as I would love to. NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING, I DEFINITELY LOVE WRITING ELIO AND PERCY, but ayyyyy, silly tall man needs his time to shine as well!! Scenario: Jamie arrived earlier than expected at your apartment. What can you say, man's always punctual, but you're still getting ready for your date night! Jamie showing up early at your apartment isn't shocking on its own. What is mildly suspicious is the way he's standing by your door, coat neatly buttoned, hair perfectly in place, looking like he just walked out of a very tasteful magazine spread... while you're halfway through getting ready. Your shoes are somewhere by the bed, you're not even wearing your outfit yet, and you're still getting your face prepped.

"Where did you come from?" You ask. He leans on the doorframe, arms crossed, and a smile on his face. "From outside. Deja opened the door for me." He answers. You huff, rolling your eyes playfully. "What I actually meant is that you're early."

He tilts his head. "I said around seven."

"It's six-thirty!"

"That is around seven." He says mildly.

You click your tongue and watch him sit on the edge of your bed—long legs folded, hands resting casually on his knees, and you feel the way he looks at you. Not in a heavy, undressing way—just this steady attention that makes you aware you're only half ready for your date. You doubt he's trying to make you self-conscious, though. If anything, you see the deep attraction he feels for you, bare-faced or not, you'll always be beautiful. You clear your throat and turn back to your mirror to finish getting ready. You try to ignore the weight of his gaze that follows every movement. It's hard, especially when he's this handsome.

"Did you change your skincare?" He suddenly asks out of nowhere. "Huh?" You say, turning around to look at him. "That's a different bottle." He points at your moisturizer. You blink in surprise. "You know which one I use?"

He simply nods in response. "...Yeah, I ran out." You then answer.

"Hm. The other one smells nice on you. Not that the one you're using now is bad. I'm just used to that brand more." He shrugs.

You smile fondly. It really is cute for him to remember small details like that. It's not the first time he does it, but you're still surprised each time. It's the most random thing, but that's what makes it really sweet. "I'll keep that in mind." You say in response.

"So, Mr. Porter... are you enjoying watching me get ready? It's not the most entertaining thing you can watch someone do." You say, squinting your eyes at him knowingly. "A little. It's nice watching you put extra effort." He admits.

You feign offense, furrowing your eyebrows at him. "Whatever do you mean? I always put effort every time we go out!"

He hums. "Yes. But tonight you're doing it with me in mind, aren't you?"

That made you stop. He made a solid point, after all. Then you laugh, shaking your head. "Alright, smooth talker." You turn to face him, hands on your hips. "As much as I'm enjoying this little bonding time, out you go. I need to change."

He raises a brow, lazy and amused. "Why? It's not anything I haven't seen before."

The reaction was immediate, exactly what he's aiming to do. Heat crawls up your neck, up to your cheeks, and you hate how easily he can do that... throw one line, tilt his head just so, and your brain blanks. And he knows this very effect he has on you. What a bastard.

"That's not the point." You manage. "It's about the element of surprise. You know, mystery, suspense. Ever heard of it?"

He laughs, soft and genuine. "I, in fact, have heard about—"

"Jamie..."

"I'm going." He smirks, before finally standing up, giving you the eye, as you shoo him away. Once outside, he closes the door behind him. You sigh, taking a moment to calm yourself down. The Jamie charm's already taking effect on you, and you're not necessarily God's strongest soldier.

You change quickly, slipping into the outfit you'd laid out earlier. It takes a moment of adjusting, smoothing fabric, tucking and straightening before you feel like yourself in it. When you reach for the zipper at the back, though, your hand fumbles at that annoying middle section you can never quite get without dislocating something.

Normally you'd shout for Deja to ask for her help. Today, you open the door a crack instead. "Jamie?" You call, peeking through. He's leaned against the opposite wall, scrolling idly on his phone. At the sound of your voice, he looks up, and the way his eyes light—quick and instinctive, does dangerous things to your inside. "All done?" He asks.

"Not quite. I'm going to need your hands." You answer. He raises an eyebrow, but you definitely pique his interest. You exhale softly, ushering him back inside to your room. He follows after you, as you turn so your back faces him, fingers holding the open sides of your outfit together. "I can't reach the zipper." You say. There's a brief pause, long enough to feel his gaze move down your back, taking in the new silhouette, the small stretch of bare skin. "I see." He steps closer, and even without looking, you can feel the shift in the air, the way the room seems smaller all at once. His hand settles lightly at the small of your back. "Straighten up for me." He says quietly, voice closer to your ear than you thought.

You do as you're told, spine lengthening automatically and shoulders easing back. His palm stays warm against your lower back as he catches the zipper between his fingers. The drag is slow enough that you can track its path up your spine, each inch feeling more intimate than the last, especially with the way his knuckles brush up along your spine as he works, an unhurried path that leaves a trail of awareness in its awake. Goosebumps rise under his tough, traitorous.

Jamie notices. Of course he does. "Cold?" He asks, breath ghosting the curve of your neck. "...'m fine." You manage. It's mostly a lie. But you both know it's not from the chilly weather. You exhale when it reaches the top, you hadn't realized you were holding your breath.

"There. All secure. Quite tragic, honestly." He says as you glance at him over your shoulder. "Tragic?" You ask. "I liked it better undone." He answers way too calmly, but his eyes are not as they sweep the length of you, appreciative. His gaze lingers a fraction of a second longer at your neckline, then drops to the line of your legs, and back up, taking in how everything fits together. Your pulse stutters. For a second, your brain supplies an image of exactly what that would mean... With him this close, his hands where they are, your back not zipped at all. You force yourself to snap out of it. "...But I suppose we're going out and not staying here."

"You look good." He continues, stepping back, and giving your space as if nothing happened. The tension, however, refuses to go anywhere. It sits there, coiled in the air between you, humming. You clear your throat. "Thank you." You answer, proud that your voice comes out mostly even. You turn back on your desk to start on your makeup with renewed focus, because if you think too hard about what just happened, you won't get out of this apartment tonight.

You're halfway through when Jamie speaks again. "You're going to overthink that line if you keep pressing it like that." He says. You blink at your reflection, before looking at him through the mirror with a raised eyebrow. The lipstick is fine, but your hand did hesitate. "I'm not overthinking."

"You are. I can see the wheels turning from here." That makes you laugh a bit as you look over your shoulder at him. "And what are they saying?" You ask, teasingly. "They're saying that you should let me help." He answers. That surprised you, especially since he sounds serious. "You want to?"

"Yes. Will you let me?" He crosses the room with that careful, unhurried grace he has. He's now standing in front of you, head tilted to the side, and how could you say no to that face? You smile at him, charmed and curious. "Well, alright. If you know what you're doing, then be my guest." You hand him your lipstick, which he takes happily, smiling back at you. He's quite confident, so you're not at all worried that he'll mess it up.

You lean your bottom against the desk for balance, hands holding on either side of you. He uncaps the lipstick with a soft click, glances at the color, then at your lips. His free hand lifts and settles along your jaw, his thumb rests just under your bottom lip, gentle but firm, angling your face up toward him. "Stay still." He murmurs, as if you could do anything else.

Jamie leans in close enough that you feel the warmth of him, the shadow of his breath, and the faint scent of his cologne. He starts at your cupid's bow, the tip of the lipstick gliding along the edge of your upper lip with slow, precise strokes. He moves to your bottom lip, bracing his fingers lightly at the hinge of your jaw as he angles the tube. You inhale, trying not to shiver at the intimacy of it—especially when his gaze flicks up at your eyes occasionally. You don't know why, maybe to see if you're watching him, and you are. It's hard not to when he's this close to you... and look very pretty doing that. His focus doesn't waver as he traces the curve carefully, filling in color.

"There." He says after another moment, stepping back half an inch to examine you. He caps the lipstick and sets it on the desk beside you, but he doesn't step back just yet. His thumb brushes lightly along the edge of your lower lip, smoothing out a barely-there imperfection. "It's almost perfect."

"Almost?" You repeat.

"I feel like something's missing." He answers thoughtfully. You know that tone, that look he's giving you—the one where he's already three moves ahead and waiting to see if you follow. You always do. "And... how exactly do you plan to fix that?" You ask. His eyes flick up to meet yours and whatever he sees there makes something in his expression soften and sharpen all at once. The corner of his mouth lifts. "I do have a theory. Would you like to help me test it?"

Your fingers curl at the desk, feeling how your heart's running overtime to prepare. Still, you make a show of thinking. "Hm... I suppose it'll be irresponsible not to."

"That's what I like about you." He murmurs, and then he's closing the last inch of space. He doesn't just crash into you, it's not his style. He pauses close enough that your noses almost bump, and it's you who lean up to remove the remaining sliver of distance between your lips. The first press of his mouth is warm and careful, lips molding to yours with a gentleness that makes your chest ache. Your breath catches, then releases against him in a small, involuntary sound. His thumb tilts your jaw a little further, angling you exactly where he wants. Then he slips past the line between gentle and hungry like it was never really there. He moves against you with unhurried confidence, lips sliding over yours in a rhythm that's thorough rather than rushed. His free hand finds your waist, fingers spanning the curve of it, tugging you closer until your hips meet his. The contact sends a hot spark up your spine. You blink and glance at the mirror to see for yourself. Somehow, he's right. Your lipstick is still exactly where it's supposed to be—full, even, just a little bit softer at the edges. Jamie, on the other hand, has a hint of red at his own, lips a shade darker and a little swollen. Whether it's from the kiss or the lipstick, you'll never know. Of course, the easy solution is to say it's a mix of both.

Still, you tease him. "You're wearing more of it than I am now."

"I don't think it's the lipstick. That's just your doing." He points out, which makes you huff a laugh. You stare at him lovingly and, in turn, he watches your expression, something fond and satisfied slipping through his usual composed veneer. Then he steps back, smoothing a hand down the front of his coat. "Much as I enjoy this, we should leave soon." He says, glancing at your clock. Right, date night. You temporarily forgot about that.

You do a quick final check in the mirror and catch his gaze in the reflection—still watching you with the same soft, intent look of his. You smile, before reaching for your own coat and wearing it.

"Ready?" He asks, offering you his hand. You slip your hand into his. "Yes. Though, if you keep offering to help when I'm getting ready, we're going to be late a lot." You answer, giggling happily.

He smiles. "I think we'll survive being only a few minutes late."
