“I mean...if it matters, I certainly have a preference.” Matt offered with a sort of ‘aw shucks’ grin, only further enhancing the wounded puppy dog aesthetic he carried with him whenever he limped his way into her home. It wasn’t too bad, this time around. He’d only needed a single set of stitches after all, everything else could just be bandaged or iced and he’d be golden.

He recognized that he probably shouldn’t be needling her anymore, but he couldn’t help but goad, “Admit it, I’ve been getting better at not getting injured.” Between her always complaining at him to take better care of himself and Foggy freezing him out whenever he limped into the office after a difficult night, he’d really had little choice but to be more careful if he wanted to keep those he cared about close.

It had been strange, to fight side by side with her. Yet, whoever was after her was obviously after Daredevil as well. They shared a common enemy and he wasn’t certain how to feel about that, but it was something to think about later. At the very least, the men who attacked them had achieved what he wanted as well: halting her plans for the night. There was no way she was continuing with the amount of blood coming out of her. 

Matt huffed, irritated. He could smell the blood on her, and knew it didn’t belong to anyone else. Yet, he had been more cautious as of late, ever since she had shown up at Matt Murdock’s apartment, and didn’t want to reveal any enhanced sense. The less she knew about Daredevil, the less she could ever connect back to Matt.

Tone lowered, near a growl, he pointed out,  “I saw you take the knife to the arm. I know you must have been injured. You should leave and get it looked at. This is not an opportunity I’d let slip by.” He’d let her go for now, in part as thanks for the strange partnership, and in part because he had his own injuries to deal with. “The next time we see each other, I will go after you again.”
