I think she has said her mom read them and gave her a summary of what happens.
i've been reading through your blog and though you say you've had no acting experience, i find many of your analyzations and advice very helpful. i don't think viewer opinions could get any deeper and more valuable than yours. i was wondering - what is your opinion on the actors for the stark children?
Hi anon. Thank you very much! You are too kind.
I really like the child actors. My favourite of the 4 has to be Maisie Williams. I think she started strong and continues to have a good performance. Once in a while she didn’t hit the mark, she wasn’t in her best moment this past season, but she recovered towards the end of it. Isaac is also pretty good, but unfortunately this season didn’t give him the right opportunities to show his skills. I think he wasn’t good this season, but was in the past ones. I saw nothing outstanding and that kinda disappointed me. I’m hoping he gets back on track next season. Sophie Turner is on the list of most improved performances in the show. She started really weak, having issues with her line delivering in terms of the tone and diction, but towards season 2 she worked on it and was able to overcome some issues she had. Her growth as an actress surprised me in 2 or 3 moments in season 3. I think she needs more acting training to polish her skills. She’s not always good, and sometimes her performance is flat, redundant and just very green, but she has her good moments. I would definitely like her to be more consistent. Finally Art Parkinson was cute and I liked his performance in this season. It’s hard for me to say whether I think he’s good or bad because we barely get to see much of him. I find his little crying moments good, but I’m not able to determinate if he’s good or bad in general just by that.
Thanks!
What do you think of Massie's acting skills? Personally, I see murderer in her eyes everytime
Hi!
I think my opinion can be summed up with this 3 asks: here, here, and here.
Thanks!
How do you think Maisie William's age (she's fifteen currently, I believe, and she's not get any younger) will affect Arya's storyline, if at all? In the books, it came across as *SPOILERS!* a child being emotionally traumatized and desensitized to violence. Can that same theme be explored with a teenage actress?
Hi!
I don’t have an issue with the age thing. Adapting a series like this had that “problem", and unless they recast the roles (I’d kill them if they do), they have to deal with it. What Arya goes through, or many characters go through, like Sansa, Dany, Robb, Jon…, always seemed like things that were too big for children or teens to deal with. So, the age thing seems more appropriate to me on the show, rather than on the books. If that makes any sense. Therefore, what Arya goes through is possibly, or at least for me, more according to an older character. Yes, we might miss that element of a young child surviving, and pretty much surpassing the expectations we might have for her, but I think it can be accomplished in a different way in the show. It can go from child to teenager traumatized and desensitized.
I don’t think Maisie will have problems with that part of the character, so I’m excited to see what she’ll come up with.
Thanks!
Also. Amusing thing. I don't think Maisie, Sophie, or Isaac received any formal schooling in acting while Kit and Emilia who both did go through drama school and acted in theatre before Game of Thrones. That being said, do you have a scale of acting talent between the five of them?
Hi!
No, the kids haven’t had a formal acting training. They have though, done some things related. Like dancing, or some kind of acting classes, since Sophie Turner has said so in some interviews, and Maisie Williams has said she takes dancing classes, and has some kind of training. They don’t have formal preparation, but they do have some sort of preparation. Idk about Isaac though, haven’t heard him say much about it.
The scale, hmmm let’s see:
M. Williams
Isaac Hempstead
Sophie Turner

Emilia Clarke
Kit Harington
Haha. The last two spots may vary. I have days in which I find her to be worse, and others in which he takes that place (of course just talking about these two actors, not getting into discussion others). Idk.
Thanks!
