Weeeelll, it depends! Like, in which context?
Is this about Little Walter, (too)? Are we talking about romance in canon? Maybe in AUs?
(Roll to the end for the HCs, because I wrote a bunch of shit involving my interpretation of Walter before getting anywhere. lol)
I personally prefer to think of Walter/Henry in AUish contexts, where Walter won't be violent to Henry 😌 and then they can have a non-abusive relationship from the get-go (turning an abusive one to a healthy one is something...hard to find.)
But like general tendencies?
I think Canon!Walter is an obvious menace and will tease Henry mercilessly, but he can also turn out a needy shadow glued to Henry's back (if he settles down and gets comfortable with their arrangement) around their apartment.
One of my main issues with Canon!Walter is that... (In my interpretation,) Walter is not just Walter, and yet he isn't completely Walter, either.
The one walking around killing people is his resentful of, hatred-fed side against humanity, plus Valtiel...and his "good"/pure side sort of was detached or dislodged from him in the form of little Walter.
So what we get is this fragment of self that isn't Walter, but it sort of is.
Therefore, I don't trust adult-canon!Walter to be good to Henry at all.
((I do have an AUish in my head that I even wrote a little, just a little about, that Walter and Valtiel are not so entangled together, so they sort of fight for dominance in Walter's consciousness to the point that, what little Walter is, is still inside of adult!Walter, so he is much more human, is capable of empathy, and can communicate and create a relationship with Henry at the few times Walter wins over Valtiel.
Yeah, it ends up tragically anyway. lol))
So idk. Canon!Walter, as he is shown in the game, would probably be abusive, domineering, toying with Henry, and all that.
Henry, at most, would create a trauma bonding with him.
There could even be an argument for Henry to fight back, and they have a sort of equally destructive relationship?...
Anyway, in an AU scenario where Walter wasn't a complete mess (counting here if he had little Walter's characteristics yet):
I think Walter would develop a dependency on Henry, because Walter has always been ignored and mistreated at every turn, so when Henry notices him, and they become a couple, Walter is neeeedy as fuck. Naughty and needy!
They are both touch-starved and young, so Walter's neediness and naughtiness wouldn't be a problem at all.
Henry's neediness is much quieter, but it shows when he opens his mouth during intimacy.
Eventually, only after some time together, Henry will start bit by bit leaning on Walter, especially physically and in the mornings, accosting his boyfriend while he cooks. All groggy from sleep, nuzzling up Walter's hair.
Henry loves that hair. He takes any opportunity that he can excuse himself to touch and especially pull at Walter's hair.
Walter can annoy Henry in how much Walter feels like he has to take care of him. Some sort of thing, like nobody ever took care of me, so I will do to you what I want you to do to me. Plus, deep down, he is immensely grateful for Henry's love.
No way Walter lets Henry do things by himself for long. Henry needs to train him to stop invading his Zoom calls
Walter can be a great listener, Henry, too. But it feels like Walter makes him feel better after talking about stuff.
Henry doesn't talk about his feelings most of the time, so he just stays in bed with Walter sort of loosely hugging him as Henry decompresses
