Much of this episode was mind-searingly unpleasant and hard to watch with full focus, and I don’t think that was an accident. Our friends at Anteiku may have enjoyed a period of peace and calm in the time between Mado’s death and the previous episode…we just don’t get to see a lot of it. Thus, in this way, despite the disorientation of a time-jump and a crapload of new characters—some more interesting than others—the tension is kept up in a show that needs tension and peril to thrive.

You taught me so much growing up. I owe a lot of who I am today to you. You made me well rounded, you taught me to be tough, you taught me how to have fun and though I didn't get to live on your never-ending streets, you raised me well.
I saw pictures of you today and you looked so broken. You looked so soiled and beat down. I know assholes have looted from your ancient houses and music no longer serenades your concrete, but I'll always remember you in your glory days. Thanks for everything. Thank you so much.
