Imagine This: Stuck in a Time Loop with Your Wife and A Cop

It’s my day off from work, and I was looking for something to play, I browsed my video game library, was not in a mood to start  a new game because I still have to finish my Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. I was looking for something short and enjoyable and all of a sudden I remember a time loop plot centered game. So with a lot of debt in my credit card I did not wait for a sale but instead bought this game Twelve Minutes 

Premise

One day you are just enjoying a romantic night with your wife at your apartment when suddenly a cop accuses your wife of a crime and it’s up to you to uncover the truth, and also you are stuck in a 10 minute time loop.

Gameplay

The game is a point and click adventure game with a top down view, you can interact with items, the environment and the few characters you see on screen. The game progresses as you gather more information through your multiple time loop giving a new experience and things to do towards the next loop. The time loop mechanic happens when you get knocked out, killed or once the 10 minute is over.

The Good

I honestly am a sucker for time loop plots (not sure if you can call that a good)

I enjoyed the writing, the game progresses in a way that you want to find out more

The 10 minute duration per time loop gives you a limit on what to do per loop, so you have to plan accordingly when trying to get more information or trying a different outcome

Voices done by James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Daisy Ridley(Rei) and Williams Dafoe (Green Goblin)

Trial and error gameplay so each loop is a new experience.

A blind playthrough is very fun that you must try at least once!

The Bad

Too repetitive, if you play long enough and seen some scenes a few times it can feel like a chore or too tedious for some people.

Conclusion

It is a good point and click adventure game. It involves a mystery element where you keep on digging for answer. It is not that long unless you want to get all endings. It took me about 3 hours to get an ending, that involves no guide and blind playthrough. So yeah, I think it would be worth it for anyone especially if time loops are a thing for you.
