You can now bid on the wolf miniature painted by Liam for “Wolves in Wolves”
Back in 2017 a hugely successful public art project ran in the City of Wolverhampton. "Wolves in Wolves" saw 30 large wolf sculptures, (1.5m tall) each one painted by a local artist or group, placed around the city to form a trail people could follow to see them all.
In addition, 100 miniature replicas were also created, 40 of which were decorated to form an exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. At the end of the project, a public auction was held at Molineux Stadium, appropriately as it is the home of Wolves Football Club, and most of the wolves were sold with the proceeds going to charity.
This particular wolf is a miniature, standing almost 50cm tall, and has been personally painted by none other than Liam Payne, singer and former bandmember of One Direction. It will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the Mayor of Wolverhampton.
The base has been signed by Liam. We guess that he has painted the arrows on its back as they all face in "one direction"!
We're sure any proud Wulfrunian would love to own this sculpture with its connections to the City and a "local lad done good", and no doubt fans of Liam and One Direction will be clamouring to get their hands on this piece. The "wolvesinwolves.co.uk" website will tell you more about the original project.
