This is the Chapel of Misericórdia (charity) of Alcantarilha, a small church built in the year of 1586. I am not sure if you have noticed that detail, but the XVIII Century facade was "glued" to the original structure, but it's noticeable that they don't really match perfectly.

A gift of the Crown, bestowed for distinguished service by Queen Elizabeth I upon the first Earl Rivers, Ashbourne Park was established in the year 1586. What began as a symbol of royal favor has since become a testament to endurance, legacy, and quiet resilience.

Though the Rivers family was, over time, forced to part with much of their surrounding lands, they held firmly to what mattered most -the House itself. Through centuries of change, Ashbourne Park has remained in their possession, continuously inhabited by the family for generations, each leaving their mark while preserving its soul.
