Top 10 Aoi Yuuki Roles

Hell yeah baby! Remember when I did this same post but for Inori Minase instead? Yeah well now it’s my actual favourite seiyuu’s turn. I did consider doing this for Aoi Yuuki a while back, I’d just not quite seen enough roles from her that I like, really cared about, I guess. I feel like if I’m gonna make a post like this, every character should feel like someone I would care about, rather than just having roles to fill up the list. However, I’ve since seen enough other shows she’s in to where uh, well, obviously this post exists. Let’s just jump right into it.

Honourable Mention - Kino - Kino’s Journey

So we’re starting this list with an honourable mention since I don’t really know how fair it is to include this character. See, I’ve only seen the 2003 Kino anime, but Aoi Yuuki voices them in the 2017 show. However! Aoi Yuuki also voices a minor-ish character called Sakura in the 03 anime and was in many ways a driving force behind the 2017 anime existing, and hey I like the character of Kino and I’m sure Aoi Yuuki does them justice in the 2017 anime.

Honourable Mention - Seven Blasphemous Deaths - Thunderbolt Fantasy

Honestly this is only an honourable mention because I literally forgot about it since this isn’t an anime so it’s not on MAL, but then I just remembered that Aoi Yuuki voices a sword in a Taiwanese puppet show and it was pog as fuck. Really I just can’t be bothered rewriting any of what I’ve already wrote so yeah that’s why this is up here. Uhm, pog sword, shockingly compelling villain for what it is, great dynamic with her two main wielders we see throughout the season.

10. Tanya Degurechaff - Isekai Quartet

This is arguably cheating since I’ve honestly never seen Tanya, but I think having seen Isekai Quartet is a valid loophole, right? Uh, Tanya seems fun I guess. I just like getting to hear Aoi Yuuki go off and fucking scream tbh. Yeah this is arguably as questionable a pick as Kino lol. I know I said I need to care about a lot of these characters but I think caring about the majority is good enough, prior to watching some of the shows I’ll mention later on I would have only had like, 4 or 5 properly good roles to go with. I promise the list gets better from here lol.

9. Mami Nanami - Kanojo, Okarishimasu

Kanokari was whatever but Mami’s the hottest girl in the show and is also like, such a fuckin wild ass character that I completely loved her. I have no further comments on her,

8. Hototo - Appare Ranman

Ah, the funny little Native American boy of dubiously racist design. But I mean so is everyone in that show, I think that Punch-Out style racism of just playing stereotypes is fine. But yeah this kid’s like, got a good character arc of his own and really great chemistry with like every other character, and yeah that’s all you really want, right?

7. Tatsumaki - One Punch Man

She’s cute, she’s hot, she’s sassy, she’s fun as all fucking hell to watch because my god does season 1 have amazing animation and my fucking GOD does the manga have the most insanely fucking stunning artwork I’ve ever seen. Big fan.

6. Tsuyu Asui - My Hero Academia

Haha My Hero, Plus Ultra.

5. Yuzuru Nishimiya - A Silent Voice

Yuzuru’s a really good blend of a nice source of comedy for what’s a pretty heavy movie, while also being an interesting and compelling character in her own right. She is sorta defined by her connection to her sister, and loosely the granny, but I think that works anyway with how the movie’s structured and of course, Shouko being deaf, depressed and suicidal. Poggers fuckin character.

4. Nodoka Hanadera - Healin’ Good Precure

Healin’ Good is my first Precure and I’m loving basically all of it, but Nodoka especially is just such a bundle of niceness and cuteness and pinkness and she’s just one of those characters that you feel happy simply watching. Love her a lot.

3. Yuuki Konno - Sword Art Online

Should probably go without saying that my favourite SAO character would be on this list. Yuuki’s just pog because she’s a good character in her own right, her actions and presence influence Asuna in a way that makes her a better character, and she also dies so she doesn’t need to be ruined by Kirito harem bullshit, a problem Sinon - the other good female SAO character - occasionally runs into. 

2. Hibiki Tachibana - Senki Zesshou Symphogear

So the thing is, this is definitely ordered more by how much I like the character than how much I like Aoi Yuuki’s performance as them. However, this is bar none Aoi Yuuki’s best performance, at least that I’ve heard. Cause like, this is really just a role where Aoi Yuuki gets to eat her fuckin heart out, girl can scream and shout and let it all out and sing and be cute and go “DATTOSHITEMO!” from the very bottom of her lungs while killing god and it’s the absolute best thing ever. Watch Symphogear.

1. Madoka Kaname - Puella Magi Madoka Magica

But like, this was the obvious number one, right? Plain and simple, I’m too much of a Madoka simp, nothing else even really stood a chance. Madoka’s a really amazing character and super underrated within her own series, she’s my favourite main magical girl ever, MadoHomu is pog as fuck, the show she’s from is of course a masterpiece I never shut up about, Aoi Yuuki’s performance for the character is top notch as fuck, I really need to watch Beginnings and Eternal again since I’ve only seen those in Japanese once and I think when I did I didn’t even appreciate Aoi Yuuki half as much as I do now. Cool time.

Anyway that’s my newest dumb gimmick post done. Aoi Yuuki is my favourite seiyuu of all time and these are all the reasons why.
