I forgot to post these last year, but here was my 2017 New Year Resolutions. I’ve added a tick box for whether or not I actually achieved them. :) I’m happy to see that a lot of them have either or to fruition, or I’ve at least started them! I still have a lot of work to do in some areas, but overall, 2017 was a very productive year. :D Here’s to another productive one!

ACADEMIC // * ❑ Get back into learning Japanese, learn & use vocab everyday * ⬔ Learn all 1000 GRE vocab words, develop a more creative vocabulary * ❑ Take GRE prep class, get a good score on the GRE! * ⬔ Complete an internship or two (TA?) * ◼ Graduate from ASU in the fall! * ⬔ Apply for grad school
LIFE // * ❑ Start doing volunteer work again! * ◼ Join an autism group or two * ⬔ Be openly autistic – fuck worrying about what ppl will think anymore * ⬔ Make new friends, make an effort to meet ppl * ◼ Set down roots, even if you have to uproot them eventually * ◼ Take the bus, be more self-sufficient, grocery shop, run errands alone * ⬔ Learn how to talk about what you know, about yourself, & to talk in general * ⬔ Be more confident in yourself * ⬔ Be nicer, control anger better, be more empathetic & friendly * ◼ Continue with vegetarianism! * ⬔ Continue working on time management, take breaks, eat, set alarms * ◼ Look cute more often, even just around the house * ⬔ Start to love holidays again * ⬔ Go on more day & weekend trips – at least once a month go somewhere new! * ❑ Get a passport, plan a trip, travel out of the country for the first time * ❑ Go camping & hiking more often! Join a group if you have to * ❑ Push yourself to do things that scare you! Esp if it’s irrational fear * ⬔ Listen to music more often, get into new stuff * ⬔ Play video games! You don’t need an excuse to relax * ❑ Start watching movies again, the feels can be good in the long run * ⬔ Reconnect w/ movies & art that inspired you years ago
ART // * ⬔ Finish what you start, stop expecting immediate pay-off – stick with it * ⬔ Make art all the time, everyday! Don’t always try to perfect it, just make it * ⬔ Draw every single day, even if it’s just doodling * ❑ Open a PO box & make pretty mail again * ⬔ Start the ephemera shop! * ❑ Get back into your novel, 2nd draft? * ⬔ Start working on graphic novel!! Don’t let the idea die unrealized * ◼ Experiment w/ equipment & mediums, learn how to use them, develop techniques * ◼ Explore abandoned places again, take lots of photos!
PHYSICAL // * ❑ Start working out regularly, stretch everyday * ⬔ Start eating earlier in the day * ◼ Start going to therapy again * ❑ Get something to deal w/ anxiety * ◼ Go to the doctor regularly * ◼ Drink enough water everyday * ❑ Stop chewing the inside of your mouth!!!
