3rd Person Controller.......again

Tonight i started working on my side project, a third person, 3D, arcade, wave based smash em up game. (already sounds ridiculous i know). Not really knowing where to start i thought i would try and get the controller down. 

3rd person controllers are weirdly hard and super amazingly fun to make. This one is my second attempt at a controller and this time i took things from tutorials and some things i have remembered along the way. I started with standard player movement, however this time focused on getting the straffe in. At this point i felt i had done pretty well, not that it is that hard either. Confidence was high. 

Then i started to look at the camera scripts and wow does that start to get out of hand and strange. hahaha a few things are working, however the camera is not following the player correctly and rotates weird when it shouldn’t. Definitely to do with the standard distance of camera to be set from the player and i’m sure a multitude of other things, to which i am not aware.

nonetheless i pushed on and tried something different by attaching the camera directly to the player. Thinking this would do something pretty crazy and out there.....i was right, it did. At first it worked and then it goes CRAZZZY 

HAHAHAHA wacky dimension capsule man. (possible title for game) i am learning so much about the general states and definitions of coding the more and more i get my hands dirty with stuff. This time around i feel i have a much greater base to start with and from here i will continue to upgrade and refine it so that it becomes functional. Then onto a small character model and animation. But first much more code. Woop woop

more player controller

I ran out of time today but i managed to get the camera rotation smoother. Still so much leaning and dodging going on. But we will save that for another day.

I’ve got the increase scaling in but really hard to tell with the capsule the way it is. before you know it helll be ready to be eating everything.
