I think it’s interesting that bucktommy and eddie and marisol bump into each other in 705 at the same restaurant where Hen tried to get toni and clive back together in 509.

Something about a forbidden love. Toni and clive were having a secret love affair which parallels the buddie bestie-ism that’s deeper and more romantic than anyone in the show is really talking about, and it also parallels the secret bucktommy date unfolding in that 705 scene.

Something about walking away from happiness out of a sense of shame and duty. Toni and clive spent decades apart because toni got pregnant with hen, felt bad for the affair, and didn’t want to separate hen from her birth father. That parallels eddie’s attempt to lock marisol down so that chris has a mother figure and won’t think all mother figures leave because eddie has some lingering shame over shannon abandoning chris. It also parallels buck choosing to champion his supermegahetero friendship with eddie (with all its new weird ass bro vibes ) over his first date with tommy and his emerging bi identity.

Yeah. Something about past mistakes haunting the present and overshadowing happy possibilities for the future. Missing out on the love of their life for a while. But eventually (hopefully!) ending up exactly where they belong…at each other’s side.
