What is this blog about?
Well, we aim to be a place where people—both alters and singlets—can share any positive thoughts they have to an alter, several alters, or a whole system. It can be from an alter in the same system, one from another system, or a singlet. We'll even accept an alter or system's appreciation post to a singlet!
Who can send asks?
We are personally anti-endogenic and would very much prefer for endos and endo supporters to please DNI. We also ask for problematic shippers, radqueers, transIDs, radfems/TERFs, disordered abuse believers (e.g. "narc abuse"), science disbelievers, and basic DNI to, well, DNI. Thank you!
What should I avoid?
It's asked to avoid graphic talk of anything potentially triggering, but feel free to send it in WITH A TRIGGER WARNING at the top, and we can deem if it's appropriate or not.
If an ask contains triggering content and we do accept it, we will tag the trigger warning in the tags AND the main message.
When will my submission be posted?
Typically we will go through all submissions once we gain the energy to, which is often anywhere from a week to a month. Please note that we usually will go through all posts in one sitting, unless the numbers are obscene, which we will instead close asks until every single one is gone through.
All in all, we aim to be a place where people can send anonymous (or public) appreciation to a system or an alter. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an ask or dm, or our main account (@thevinylshop) one.

hi. life's been really hard. i won't get into the nitty gritty, but we've been too drained to maintain this blog. i was hoping i'd get the motivation eventually, but it never seemed to happen.
i love this blog and the safe space it offered to people. i love the positivity it brings. but i just don't think i can keep running it. i would hand it off if i could, but i made it as a side blog from my main. i don't think its possible to transfer ownership of a side blog.
i won't be deleting alter-appreciation, don't worry! i just don't think i'll be accepting asks again. maybe sometime in the future i'll give this blog another go...?
in the meantime, i seriously encourage people to make similar/the same type of blog like this one if you want. it's important to remember the good things, and this blog was one of the ways i did that. and i really hope it helped others out there
i'll queue posts an hour from each other, starting with an hour from answering. basically, if i answer three submissions at 12pm, they will post one at a time at one hour intervals, starting at 1pm.
submissions not made on anonymous will be properly tagged, aka we will input hyphens into the username, unlike what we did in the past. i'll be going through past submissions soon and editing the tags to reflect this.
outside of those two things, i'm considering if i should change my tagging system to exclude the tags "actually [disorder]," such as #actually did. i'm worried i may be flooding these tags with things that aren't meant to go there; to my understanding, tags with "actually" in them are meant to be posts about those who have those disorders posting about it. we have OSDD, not DID or PDID.
if anyone has any thoughts to add, or think we should do this, let us know however you'd like. we appreciate any and all feedback.
Hey guys, I'd like to remind all new people who have just found my blog to please read the pinned post. Our DNI/Interaction is listed under "Who can send asks?". I've seen a couple blogs follow me who are in my DNI. I don't want to gatekeep any of this stuff, as positivity is for everyone to enjoy, so I will NOT be blocking those people. They are free to scroll my blog. BUT I would highly appreciate them NOT sending asks, following me, reblogging, etcetera. I know I can't stop you, but I still wanted to put this out there.
If you are in my DNI but want to send appreciation posts, please just make your own individual posts or find a blog that is supportive of your stances. DNI's go both ways.

Hi folks. Have a happy new year! We updated our DNI/Who can send asks to include TERFs, radfems, and disordered abuse believers (a catch-all term i just made up for things like narc abuse, etc)
realised some of our tagging was fucked up so i went through and fixed that. now just letting y'all know we don't tag by alters who make the post, only by the system who posted it (if they're anonymous and provide a tag claim, then we use that. if anonymous and don't provide any tag, then we leave it blank)
