I had a meltdown today and nonvocal times, but I wanted an AAC communication tool, so I made one when I was recovering. It’s a widget you can install in an iPhone, with a menu of buttons with simple labels. When you choose one, it uses the speech voice in your phone to read out a longer message explaining the thing you want to communicate, and displays it on the screen too, so people can read it too.
I know there’s like apps and stuff, but i like how DIY and customisable this is. You can edit it to have any buttons you like, or any messages, or do different things. You could even have a button that calls someone or sends a tweet to someone or plays a favorite song or pretty much anything. Workflow is really neat for making stuff like this.
Anyway if you like the idea of it and you have iPhone, you can get a copy on your phone from this link and mess around with it to make it fully custom however you like! Click here to install it! The workflow app is totally free (actually made by Apple even) I know if you have android you can make similar things in Tasker app but this thing isn’t compatible so you’d have to DIY
