eustace had noticed you shivering for a couple minutes now, waiting in the cold during the investigation. and while he knew he'd be just as cold without his own jacket, he acted nonchalant about it. until minutes later, when you noticed him shivering instead…
“are you sure you don't want your jacket back?” you asked carefully, staring at eustace, shaking like a leaf and wrapping his arms around himself, to keep the little warmth he still had. “you seem a little cold...”
“w-what? o-of course not–!” he huffed, unable to even keep his voice steady. “a-as if i could even get cold! the cold doesn't bother a winner like myself–!”
