Took 10 minutes and slapped this together last night because I wanted it to exist. Sam Yao is a cutie, and I love him.

Since time is still an issue as far as creating my Runner 5 content, I'm planning to do little sketches based on my headcanon. So just a quick sketch of what Abel Township's newest hot mess looks like for me.

A lot of her is based off my own sense of style and how I would see myself in a zombie-filled world. So lots of quirky shirts covered by flannel, layered denim shorts over tights with high socks and sneakers. And weapon of choice, a good bat.

Expect more quick sketches as I get back to running (hopefully this week since work is trying to get me out on time).

I have massive deadlines this week but my stupid ass is procrastinating with art ✌️

I looked back at my first doodle of Five and couldn’t believe how much the character had developed and changed in that time. This character, although technically not my own, has gone through such a journey with me and it’s so weird to me looking back at the first piece of art I drew. Now, every aspect of Five I draw has a reason for it, whereas their design back then was ‘make ‘em hot’.

My art style has developed so much since this point, and although I love how ‘cute’ Five looks here, I didn’t yet have the skill to make Five look like this consistently. Plus, it doesn’t *feel* right for them anymore. If anything, it looks like they have a sort of Disney filter on, rather than the messy, short, gremlin they are now. For one, I don’t think my five now would ever be caught dead running in just a sports bra.

To honour the baby me who drew this Five, I decided to give this version of Five a touch up (because if anyone had handed me the updated version back then I would have been frothing at the mouth). My art isn’t perfect, and it’s not where I want it to be, but it’s where past me wanted it to be, so I’m celebrating that.
