Avatar: The Game (2009) alternate cover {my WIP ♡} versus original cover

The original cover is like...a lot. So I wanted to create something a bit prettier which acknowledges the fact that you can play as a female character, while still setting the tone for an immersive game set on Pandora!

Both the human and Na'vi designs are based off of the Female Two option with slight modifications. I still have to finish some detailing, shading, and settle on a background, but this project has been so much fun!

Mainly inspired by the cover sleeves for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and Valhalla where you can flip it around for Kassandra and femme Eivor 🙂

In one two three, out one two three

Ryder takes a deep breath as he pulls himself up from his bed by the railing they FINALLY installed for him.

In one two three, out one two-

He grunts as he lowers himself onto his feet, his leg protesting immediately.

So... not a good day but not his worst thus far.

It takes a few practice steps before he stops limping, almost falling over as he got dressed. He groans at the sound of his comm going off.

“Where the hell are you princess? Lost your slippers?” Doctor Monroe’s voice demands.

He decides not to answer lest he says something harsh.

...

When he finally does leave his room he’s got a headache and is grinding on his teeth as he walks.

Just 210 steps and he’s free. 200.... 190....

When he reaches the Link Unit the doc is impatiently waiting. He ignores him as he pulls himself into his coffin and shuts his eyes.

In one two, out one.... two.... three...

He opens his eyes to see Doctor Harper hovering around the sleeping area. “You with me kid?”

Ryder tries to keep his expression neutral as he gets a sudden spike of annoyance at the concern, he quickly shakes it of as he gets up easily and starts to stretch. He can appreciate all the vibrant colors, the smell of flora, not being in pain.... “Always Harper. Just took longer to get the human meat suit ready is all.”

And what else can he call his actual body other than that? These days all he does is wake up, get ready, get in the Avatar and spend the rest of the day blue.

He feels more Avatar than Human at this rate.

He ignores the look Doctor Harper gives him.

“You can take a day off-” “No thanks. Besides, then I’d have to be stuck on the side that has Doc Monroe. If I wanted to be shouted at all day I’d call either my old drill instructor... or my little brother.” .... he did not mean to vent like that. “If you’re sure Ryder....” he’s very sure. “Anyway, what plant samples are we looking for today?” he quickly asks before he forgets or can feel guilty for brushing off Harper.

good times for avatar ppl out there! So, I watched the second movie and it was so cool and amazing, that I couldn’t not to fall in love with Avatar world again, also there is two upcoming games that I am so hyped about after all I decided to refresh memory about most underrated game and it’s coolest main char and drew my ‘Able’ Ryder themselves
