Welcome! This blog explores academia and culture through study logs, research, and the realities of student life. My goal is to beat procrastination and connect with others who share the same interests.

My academic journey is central to the content here: I'm majoring in Slavic Languages and Cultures, with a minor in Classical/anthropology/religious studies. Before this, I’ve studied Arabic and botany in high school.

You'll see a lot of content related to languages. I speak Dutch, French and English and I learn German, Bulgarian, Russian, Lithuanian, Farsi and Greek. I also learn (Sahidic) Coptic and Old Church Slavonic comprehensively. My main interests are mythology, (Balto-)Slavic urban legends, anthropology, folklore and religion.

When I’m not studying, I read classical literature, write short stories and essays or play video games. In my free time I work with horses, my focus is horsemanship and the academic art of riding. I’m a music enjoyer and I play bass guitar, my favorite genres are industrial and post-punk but I listen to all types of music. I'm also very into crafts such as embroidery and making my own clothes.

As I’ve already admitted and established on this blog, I am very (unfortunately) fucking detail-oriented and have been spiralling about all the different fandom theories on what happens to Ominis. The popular general consensus is that he dies young (Gaunt family history and all that jazz)…

But like. What if he didn’t? 👀 What if there’s good reason to believe he didn’t??? And I delulu can prove if with the Harry Potter books???

I’m no expert, just a nerd with way too much time and an MLA citation style fetish, but would y’all actually want to read my 6K-word brain dump if I post it? 🤣
