Meanwhile, in Strangetown: ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

Unbeknown to the sorority girls who are happily making out with dormies and partying in their togas, a disease is sweeping through Strangetown with deadly consequences. So far, the following citizens have suddenly passed away: Dixie Loste, Delta Land, Brook Land, Leon Hart, Miles Grunt, and Ace Grunt. There is no clear connection between these deaths, but the scientists of Strangetown are working on a theory.

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Nine: Hart

Miles is still racing to get married before elderhood so he proposes to Dot Matrix when she walks by. She says yes, but when they head to the wedding arch that afternoon, she remembers that she's in a defacto relationship with Ceres Beaker and calls everything off. Womp womp. Maybe it also wasn't a great look to marry the guy who got her bandmate pregnant...

Everyone's still in their formalwear for baby Phyllis to age up into a toddler and hoo boy that's an interesting face! I knew Ace + Lacy was going to result in unique kids but in this case I'm really hoping she ages into it. We'll also see a third kid from them soon. Lacy is extremely concerned about the rising number of werewolves in town, and worries for her children growing up around them. She's adopting the old school Grunt way of thinking, unfortunately.

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Eight: Grunt

Good news: Skipper is a child and has a new baby sister, Phyllis!

Bad news: At some point in the round I must have accidentally deleted the household's letterbox. The family weren't doing too financially well anyway (Lacy was struggling to get a teaching job from the newspaper that wasn't showing up, oops), so Ace accepted his Miles' offer to move in with him. They're also moving in with Miles' cousin Leon, his kid, and two cats. Boom - instant chaotic household, with no missing letterbox shenanigans. Phew!

StrangeSpot, Round Seventeen: Grunt

Wanting to impress Abhijeet Cho, Tank flies him to the town’s fancy restaurant in his helicopter. It’s totally unnecessary when it’s in walking distance from the base, and he obnoxiously parks the helicopter on the road, but it does win his date over and earn a “great” rating. Tank wonders what he has to do for a “dream” level!

Ace meets dormie Lacy Curtain and all of a sudden he wants to go to university.

That’s Chopper knocking over the bin and rolling in its contents. He’s an old dog so it’s hard to get him out of the habit.

Ace and Lacy don’t have much in their new home yet but they do have each other. Baby girl Skipper* is born, and that marks the end of round twenty five!

*Inspired by Barbie’s younger sister; I always thought she had an interesting name!

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Seven: Grunt

Honestly, this family is a nice breather from the chaos the other StrangeSpot households tend to produce. The only possible crumb of drama - Ace carrying the burden of the Grunt name - is swept away when he proves to be an unconditionally loving father with absolutely zero interest in joining the military. Being one your dad's doted-on do-over kids who wasn't forced to get up at 5am to do chinups has its perks!

Skipper: Thanks for not passing on any intergenerational trauma, dada 🎀

StrangeSpot, Round Fourteen: Grunt

Miles works on getting fit and Ace gets inspired to hit the course too. Seeing his brothers enjoying workout out is really heartwarming for Tank, who will always wonder what life could have been like if the General allowed him to study ballet. At least he’s found his true self in another way. Maude McArthur performs one last matchmaking spell for him (paid off with the last of Rich Mann’s suspicious suitcase full of cash donation). He meets Maddox Baena from the Strangetown PD, and fulfills his ten first dates LTW. Next up - ten dream dates. But who to have them with..?

Sandy makes another enemy in Matthew Hart. He’s a dormie with no job so the threat to make everything she buys ever again be more expensive seems a bit empty. But Sandy, hon... did you learn anything from anger management?!
