The finish of another marathon journey. Through running we learn a lot about ourselves. After all the worrying and all the disappointments during my training, I was rewarded with a PB and a great race. It’s all a bit of a blur, no idea how I was able to run so well for my standards. When we started I felt good and I just went for it. Don’t know where this power came out of. I loved every minute of it. My son says I am a celebrity for a few days 😊 and he will be bringing me things to help me out, as I deserve it since I ran that long. I’m making my list of demands! Medal Tuesday (ooooops, sorry for the delay) and showing off my 10k medal. Chaffed with my time as it was only the 3rd time I came in under 47’. The best thing was that I felt really great and was running strong to the finish, even though that part was slightly uphill. Met with some other fellow runners too, which made it all that much more fun. Then enjoyed the sunshine with friends and family. Easy running today so it was a three generation type of day at the track with my dad, me and my boy. Some naughty little person brought lots of toys with him, all 2 bags of it. My world has been torn into tiny little pieces since yesterday. However I ran today at sunset in the trails. One hour during which I broke away, I was alone, free, admiring the sunset, seeing the city lights come on and all was normal again for a little while. A nice relaxed 10k run around the track with the calf feeling a bit less tight and at decent pace. Had the company of the rising full moon!!! On the way to recovery and recovering some speed! I did three 10k runs this week, first one in 58.33min, second one in 56.33min and the third in 54.24min. Starting to feel more like myself with every run that goes by. Really happy to be out there enjoying running once again. (at Vári, Greece)
