At the vet for an injection.
Chronic illness and being stuck to an IV pole for 10 hours a day isn’t so bad when I’ve got @taylorswift to keep me company. ☺️💗
Hey y'all. This is my dog Reggie. He is the most important person in my life.
Reggie was recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease. It's a rare disease where the adrenal glands don't make/release hormones like they should. He had stopped eating and all he did was lay around. He's an old man by dog standards (almost 13), but he's never quite let go of his puppy spirit so it was an incredibly drastic and frightening change.
The disease was very costly to treat and diagnose. We were at the vet nearly every day for a week having tests done, getting fluids, and other treatments. Since then there have been many other visits for treatment and follow up. He also now must take daily medication get monthly shots in order to live.
Also while getting treatment the vet discovered a heart murmur. They did some additional testing and he has heart disease. They expect him to go into heart failure within the next year. We are doing some more testing to see if we can do something to extend his time.
As I'm sure most of you are aware, vet bills can be quite costly. I've charged everything and maxed out a credit card. I'm trying to raise money to pay it back. I would appreciate you sharing and donating if you can.
Thank you

I look normal on the outside, maybe just a little tired. But inside I am a warrior working to overcome adrenal insufficiency , and I will. It is difficult and slow but I am strong. Blessings to all out there dealing with this or any other “invisible” health issue. 💗 . www.Glitterzen.etsy.com 💛💜❤️💙💚 #chakrastones #meditate #bohochic #spiritualgangster #meditation #adrenalfatigue #aromatherapy #namaste #etsyshop #sparkle #shine #addisonsdisease #chakra #spiritual #believe #quoteoftheday #crystals #crystal #bohostyle #universe #lawofattraction #etsyseller #positivity #gemstones #positive #etsyfinds #chakras #glitterzen #gemstonejewelry #bohostyle (at Colorado)

After spending 6 months in a hospital, I finally have a diagnosis that explains all of my symptoms over the past few years. I have Primary Adrenal Insufficiency, or Addison's Disease, and Hashimoto's Disease. Addison's is an autoimmune disease of the adrenal gland, and Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. I'll be on steroids for thebresr of my life, which sucks, but this is the best I have felt in a long, long time.
After nearly dying, a lot of things changed in my life.
I finally adopted dog, a pit bull mix named Mocha. I had been maneuvering my life so that I could adopt, but it had been 3 years since I lived in my current, dog-friendly apartment. I’m across from a dog park and next to both a vet and a pet supply store.
My normal excuses haven’t been valid for 3 years.
She’s changed my life so much for the better. Beyond providing unconditional love, she has needs that I’m responsible for. When it’s hard for me to eat, I still have to feed her. When I’m too tired to leave the house, she still needs to go out.
I’ve realized pretty quickly that there is never a perfect time. I’ll never have a perfect job and apartment and the perfect amount of time and money. Addison’s Disease has already cut my life expectancy by 11 - 13 years. Life is so precious, and so very short.
I’m done waiting for the perfect time. Mocha and I will live our lives now.
Ok so apparantly this is the weekend from hell everyone.
So my dog Luna (who I got as a puppy when I was seventeen) who lives with my parents, almost died also this weekend. We found out she has something called Addisons disease, which we had no idea about. With it high stress can bring about episodes of extreme dehydration that can kill if not treated. So not knowing what was going on when she got super sick they took her to the vet and she ended up needing to stay for 48 hours to get a super expensive rehydration treatment. Also moving forward she’ll need expensive monthly treatments for the rest of her life to keep it in order.
The fucking vet bill is $2300 like holy shit guys, my parents cannot afford that. I’m going to have to pay it and that is so much. She’s so important to my mom since my mom has chronic illness and can’t work and Luna is basically her therapy dog and helps keep her stress levels low (high stress makes my mom’s symptoms worse) but my dad is unemployed and looking for a new job currently and they have no money. I don’t make a lot either but there’s no way I’m letting them give her up. I’m just so upset and stressed out now.
