Currently working on a comic about my "Neichel is Adeleine's Mom" headcanon.
Been busy with college so it's still very sketchy right now and I haven't worked out all the kinks, but here's some more food for thought for everyone else
Adeleine was born in the Forgotten Land sometime after Neichel wrote 'Twinkling Star Showers' (Note that while it's premiere was when people were leaving the Forgotten Land it was written at least a few years prior from what I can tell)
Neichel wrote her unfinished song for two reasons:
To lament the world around her as people left and it became abandoned
And she was upset that her daughter wouldn't know the same world as she did growing up there
I've been thinking about how if Adeleine was born in the Forgotten then how did she get to Kirby's world? Well I've got an answer!
There are still leftover spaceships in the Forgotten Land, many in fact.
Neichel thinks it selfish of her to keep her daughter with her in the Forgotten Land that's kind of going to shit
Neichel comandeers an abandoned ship to send her daughter to what she hopes is a better world, this ends up being Planet Popstar and there's just an abandoned ship somewhere on Popstar
Neichel stays behind because she feels like its repentance as she seems to blame herself for what the Forgotten Land has become
Adeleine is a toddler when shes sent away, maybe 3-5 years old and so thats why she doesn’t really remember Niechel all too much
What happens to Adeleine once she gets to Planet Popstar?
Not much really
Popstar when Adeleine gets there is mostly peaceful
Dedede's doing his thing and is kind of full of himself, but thats it, its calm otherwise
Adeleine taught some basics of just surviving by some Waddle Dees and after that she's on her way
Practically anyone can live on Popstar with ease since it seems like everyone is in the market of just helping eachother without wanting anything in return so Adeleine is basically raised by anyone and everyone for a while
During the events of Dream Land 2 I actually think that Adeleine would likely replace Girl Blob in a remake especially now since Girl Blob wasn't included in RtDLD so that happens
Otherwise the events of canon happen and that's it
Ehhh...? Maybe I haven't thought that far yet.
Does Neichel become the Lor Starcutter?
Perhaps sometime after she sends Adeleine away she inevitably decides to follow and to extend her life so she can keep searching she uploads her consciousness and becomes the Lor Starcutter
That or she's just traveling around as a human doing the same thing on another similar ship, its possible multiple ships akin to the Lor Starcutter were made by the Ancients anyway so take it or leave it
So about those art powers huh?
I personally headcanon that the Ancient's civilization was more of a melting pot of different species
You could sort of profile Ancients like Hyness being magic users and Humans being Sciencey, but I like to think that all creatures in the Kirby world have some magical potential that just kind of fluctuates depending on all kinds of things like species and personal family genetic history
So like for example if your species is more in tune with their magic ability as a whole your more likely to have magic but it could be impacted if and individual has a family history of trouble with their magic
Vice versa for humans, mostly non magical, but some are more in tune with it then others and can pass it on too their children
Back on topic to how this applies to Neichel and Adeleine:
Neichel has a lot of magic potential, she was able to understand the true meaning of a prophecy through a dream and after that it just sort of clicked for her
The paintbrush is more like a battery for the magic to be concentrated into and then expended during use, if someone else took Adeleine's paintbrush and they were completely magic-less then they couldn't make living paintings although this doesn't really apply to the majority of Dream Land's residents although theres likely a learning curve to it
The Magic Paintbrush is a bit...well different to say the least because it seems to be alive.
In Kirby Canvas Curse we as the player control the Magic Paintbrush and it's shown to have it's own autonomy
As well as that the Magic Paintbrush is very important since in Kirby's stone ability its present in a trio with the Star Rod and the Triple Star so clearly its on the same level as those items
It's very likely that the Magic Paintbrush is possessed or something and since we are the Magic Paintbrush when playing the game it's also likely that it's probably some human inhabiting it
I see the situation as akin to how most people see Meta Knight and Galaxia's relationship
They can talk to eachother through like telepathy or something, please note that Adeleine's brush is not possessed which is especially evident to me since it's featured in Kirby's artist copy ability which makes it seem like a more universal item to me than the grandness that the Magic Paintbrush has
Neichel gave the blue paintbrush to Adeleine because the paintbrush was special with it's sort of charging magic thing unlike the majority of very normal paintbrushes
Did Neichel create Claycia and Elline?
Maybe since, while the connection between them is thin, it's incredibly likely that Claycia was made by the same artist as Drawcia, Paintra, and Vividria since they all share the 'a' ending to their names in fact Claycia matches more than Paintra since she has the 'ia' ending like Drawcia and Vividria
There's also the possibility that whomever possesses the Magic Paintbrush now created them before they turned into it
Equal chances I'd say, perhaps its a family heirloom before eventually ending up in Neichel's hands
I like to think there's some sort of connection, but other than the Magic runs in families thing a lot of this part doesn't matter too much since I'm ending it by saying that there's some vague connection between Adeleine, Neichel, and the Magic Paintbrush
I like to think Neichel may have used it at some point, but other than that it doesn't mean much of anything in relation.
Anyways thats all I have for you guys right now in my massive info dump. Feel free to use my headcanon in your own work I'm just having fun over here with this and taking this silly headcanon as far and as seriously as I possibly can lol
Also I'd like some credit for going back through this entire post and fixing every instance where I mentioned Neichel because I misspelled her name as 'Niechel' instead of 'Neichel'
