Check out this personal and self-involved post:
After almost two years, I FINALLY FINALLY got straight As again!!
It seems very selfish to make this post, but I have been through so much shit and I leaned on the community so much and I need to just say thank you for helping me, thank you so so much. It’s been rough- chronic illness, family problems, mental health and coping problems, just everyday problem, and I am so happy that the hard work paid off.
I’d like to thank coffee, my therapist, my professors, my medication, my unlimited minutes plan so I could call my parents whenever I needed to talk, and lastly some people here on tumblr because you don’t know it but you helped me so much.
@areistotle @katsdesk @studyblr @studyandtea @philosophy-and-coffee @emmastudies
As a thank you, please enjoy the photo of me and my dog- she likes sitting next to me while I read.
Quick Tips
Keep losing your good pen/pencil every time you set it down?
Does your writing implement like to take a vacation into the void every time you try to be productive, only for you to find it days later in a completely unrelated room?
Here’s some places to set it down, so it sticks around to help out:
In the middle crease of your notebook
If you prefer spiral notebooks to composition ones, stick your pen/pencil in the spiral, or clip it on if the pen/pencil has a clip
Grab your favorite mug or glass and use it as your pen/pencil return for each time you need to set down what you’re writing with. The clink of it being dropped into your mug/glass each time will help you remember where you put it, if you chronically space that sort of thing like I do
Have a laptop? Drop it in the space between the keyboard and screen!
If you use this method, always check that spot before you close your laptop. I’m not even kidding, I’ve shattered a screen this way, save yourself the money and hassle of buying a new laptop!
Tie a bright feather to the non-writing end, so long as you don’t need to use an eraser on that end! That way you can keep track of your writing object (a big neon feather is hard to overlook, even for us XD) and feel like a proper 17-1800s person using a quill from the future. Or Harry Potter.
Also, fake flowers work really well too because you can look for the flower rather than the writing thing itself, but the slight imbalance in weight from flowers like roses can be distracting/difficult to write with if you have weak hands due to another illness
Put a glow in the dark grip on it, or put a little bit of glow in the dark paint around it. That way, provided it isn’t lost in blankets, a quick look around with the lights off should be all you need to locate your escapee writing implement.
The Studyblr
Hey everyone!! So I know my poll post isn’t even halfway through the vote amount bar I had set, but since the vast majority of the response has been positive, I would like to announce that I am in the process of setting it up as a new sideblog!!
I have the shell for it finished, I’m just building a draft base of reblogs to queue when the blog is open to the public so you guys don’t have long to wait for posts on there, but also so that you don’t have weeks worth of straight-to-blog or posted queue posts to go back through ^_^
Have a great night guys!!
I've noticed something...
There doesn’t seem to be any lists of ADHD studyblrs out there, and I’ve had some people ask me if I know of any. So I’ve decided to create a list of all ADHD studyblrs! Along with a list of blogs that are help and give advice on coping with ADHD. This list is just the ones I know of, so if you have one and are not on this list please reblog it with your studyblr! ADHD STUDYBLRS: @adhdstudying @adhdstudy @adhdstudyblr @adhdscholar @studyadhd @adhdstudytips @finally-a-realistic-studyblr (me!!) ADHD BLOGS: @actuallyadhd @adultadhdlifehacks @attentiondeficithyperactivedude @hey-look-a-squirrel @lifewithadhd @mentalillnessmouse (not ADHD specific but still a good resource to find help for coping with ADHD) @adhd-community @adhighdefinition @adhd-is Again I'm sure there are way more blogs than the ones I listed, so if you have one please reblog this!!
3/30 Your Planner or Bujo Alright I'm on a roll! (A very small roll) Here's a quick look at my bujo before I go off to my field work for the day. One of the most common questions I see about bullet journals is "Do you need a fancy expensive notebook???" To which I say "No way José!!" (Well, usually not that, but something to that effect!) I've had enormous success with bullet journals, they've been keeping my ADHD ass on track for 5 years of college! I like the flexibility of being able to tailor each page to my needs for the day and my priorities and I like having as much space as I want for any given day! I've always just used composition books decorated with stickers and I love that it grows and changes with me over the course of the year or semester (like me, it starts to look a little ragged by this point in the year...) In the words of Teddy Roosevelt "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
My bullet journal isn't pretty, but I started it and have been using it for the past two days and that's what really matters
Test prep burnout is real, anyone have any tips?
