Affinity Designer Tutorial - Creating a Mosaic Effect with dashed lines In this more advanced video, I create a somewhat realistic-looking mosaic effect in Affinity Designer using dashed lines and pressure curves. Starting with the rough shape of a Blue Tang [aka Dory fish] using circles and the node tool, I create a mosaic pattern using dashed lines. Dashed lines don't allow pressure curve adjustments. In order to work around that issue I created lines with two strokes. By using lines matching the shape of the fish, I bend the mosaic pattern, fill in smaller shapes with the Pen Tool, and finally separate all into individual tiles to colour with the Colour Picker Tool. The final touches are a 3D fx to give the tiles depth and shapes set to overlay for more colour variation/ shine. Enjoy!
Slimmy skull! Halloween is coming!!!
I used the #PenTool & #NodeTool mostly in #AffinityDesigner2. Then generated a #plasma#texture in the free programme #Krita. I 'married' both elements in #AffinityPhoto2 & added some Textures which I made from scratch by using 'foggy' Brushes.
I wanted to try my hands on a very³ quick #DigitalMandala style piece to calm down while gathering some new ideas for the future. Our Geography/History/Politics Teacher in Middle School, the lovely Mr. H., would give us a 'Mandala #pattern sheet' to colour the pattern as we wished, if we were done on a test while the rest of the class wasn't. I loved that as a kid, very calming.💖 I hope you like it.
(Of course this is not really a sacred Mandala or #Yantra per se. But for for the sake of convenience I'll use this word)
TL;DR …A quicky by yours truly, doing some pseudo Mandala Art, Enjoy!

Conflict . . . . . Which way will it go? The struggle to restore light. Life beyond the noise. [🇺🇦] For the past three months I have posted my images, poems, and thoughts on instagram. Meanwhile conflict has been raging in Ukraine. [🇺🇦] I can’t be alone in thinking how surreal today’s world is. Vivid scenes of the war are broadcast through various media and interspersed with ads “from our sponsors”. With a press of a button we change the channel to something resonating with our comfortable lives. [🇺🇦] While refugees scramble to escape the horror of what their once peaceful lives have become, many around the world go about their daily lives and plan family vacations. [🇺🇦] This isn’t a new phenomena, but maybe I recognize the disconnect and noise more than before. What we are witnessing is reality, not a video game.
