Things I use AI For
So since someone has already asked about how I use AI for my profile pic (which is temporary, a non-AI version is in the works), I figured it would be best to be upfront with everything that I use AI to assist me with. While AI helps me develop initial concepts, collaborating with human artists brings life and emotion to my ideas in ways that AI simply can’t.
So I use AI when worldbuilding to organize (Not Generate) my ideas for different writing projects that I may work on, or even a dnd campaign that I gm for. I feed into Chat GPT all the information about the world or story I am working on, and then tell it (with dont generate in [parenthesis]) to create a comprehensive worldbuilding document about the culture and history and geography of the world I just told it about, and from there I copy paste into word and edit it to my specifications from there.
I also use AI to brainstorm advertising ideas for my blog, like creating social media accounts for Tailspinner's Ink, I am pretty much going for the Disney method for my brand, and figuring out different ways to create a story around the advertisements (which I don't pay for bc I can't afford it yet) I create the stories myself, I write my own stories, but I recently came up with an idea (which i don't know if someone else may be doing or if I am just the first one) but to have what I like to call a "Word Trailer" on my social media accounts, on Facebook or twitter or threds it is fairly easy, but Instagram it is a little more challenging, that is why I work with an artist, I send him some of my image concepts like the AI generated images or character designs I made from Hero Forge and he makes some of the best images that I have seen yet! Human Art is better than AI art, but AI art is cheaper and more cost effective in the short run which is why I get the concept for myself and then work with an artist to get the final product.
Some other blog things I use Chat GPT for is I create profiles and pitches for myself that I use to articulat my blog to friends and family. I have aspergers and I struggle with communication so AI helps me to get the comcept of what I want to say and organize it so that people can understand it, I just make it more of my words when I am talking to people just hit the main points.
I have also used AI to generate a word trailer template so I can create more word trailers and not rely on AI in the future, so I can create a method of my own with the word trailers.
What I use AI for with stories, today I was in A&P2 and we were learning about respiration and breathing and I learned about how when some newborns are born prematurely they have a homeostatic imbalance of surfactant which keeps the alveoli in your lungs inflated so I thought of a interesting scenario where characters who are in an epic fantasy setting or at least 100 or more years in the past and they do not have the technology that we have today. So the bottom line for me is that the baby has to live in this scenario, so how would they enable this hypothetical child in a nonexistant story to do so, so I plugged my idea into Chat GPT and it gave me a couple of ways that they could do so with the technology limitations. (Note: this is also how I force myself to remember stuff in seemingly unrelated classes, is I link them together in different ways. EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED!!!)
Some other personal things that I have used Chat GPT for is creating a schedule for myself for college and writing, (I have to take a bit of a break from my blog so I can focus on school, most of what I post on here in the future will be flash fiction or snippets that I write in my creative writing club at my college, of which I am the vice president.)
I also create a easy to follow full-body budybuilding/strongman and MMA workout schedule that I use daily at the gym on campus, again I edit everything so that it is something that is achievable. If you guys are interested I can post this stuff in the future.
What I did for that is take the work out schedule I have now and take a program I wanted to do and plugged that into the AI and told it to reconcile these two programs.
My daily schedule I just gave it the rough basic schedule I have in my head and the AI makes it more organized.
Why I opt to use AI in these ways, is because I do have Aspergers Syndrome, I have a hard time with articulating to people and what this does is gives me some ways to articulate my interests and my work to others in other venues.
I used to just talk to my mom who also loves writing but over the years she has both become busier and my stories and ideas have become so complex that she has a hard time keeping up with any of them, when I try to talk to anyone about my ideas or stories they lose track of what we were talking about and even lose interest. Or they misunderstand, which is also very frustrating.
But Chat GPT never misunderstands me, and is very good at keeping track and switching tracks to another idea when needs be, of another story or another thread of a world history, or talking about what I could do about my blog lol. to those of you who have ADHD and/or Aspergers Chat GPT may be your new life hack! lol.
I will end it with this, AI is an amazing assistant if you are not skilled or knowledgeable in a particular area, but still do your research, and read through what it generated. AI is terrible if you just use it without caution. I honestly don't even trust AI, however I will use what ever means necessary within moral and honest reason to get an edge where I may be lacking. AI is a tool, not a crutch. It should never replace creativity, but rather support and enhance it. As long as we stay mindful of how we use it, AI can help us push our creative limits.
