My 5 What-If DuckTales (2017) Character Akumatizations
Ok. Here I’ll be going over 5 characters from the DuckTales (2017) TV series and what powers they might gain if they were to be akumatized. For those of you that don’t know, in the Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug And Chat Noir TV series, an akumatization is a process when a wielder of the Butterfly Miraculous sends out a magical butterfly called an Akuma to turn a person into a superpowered version of themselves. And the powers they gain from it are sometimes very specific to who they are and what their situation is. For example, as shown in the episode ‘The Mime’, an akumatization gave a mime performer named Fred Haprele the power to bring invisible versions of whatever he mimes to life. With all that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
First, I’ll be going over what powers an akumatization would give Scrooge McDuck. As shown and stated in the episode ‘The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck!’, Scrooge McDuck prides himself on being a self-made person. I think that means that if an akumatization is gonna give Scrooge superpowers, it would have to be superpowers that Scrooge at least remotely earned on some level. So, I think an akumatization might give Scrooge the ability to replicate the powers of all the magical artifacts and treasures that he obtained over the years. After all, as shown in the episode ‘The Other Bin Of Scrooge McDuck!’, Scrooge had amassed a collection of magical items. And Scrooge probably had to travel all over the world and go through who-knows-what in order to obtain them all. For example, as stated in the episode ‘The Other Bin Of Scrooge McDuck!’, Scrooge had to go through his worst nightmare in order to obtain the mythical Dreamcatcher. So, that means that Scrooge technically earned the power they have as far as the akumatization process is concerned. However, I think that Scrooge McDuck will refrain from using that power at all times. After all, as I said earlier, Scrooge McDuck prides himself on being a self-made person. And, by that logic, Scrooge might see superpowers of any sort as too much of a short-cut.
Next, I’ll be going over what superpowers Violet Sabrewing might get if she were to be akumatized. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet has quite a fascination for magic. And as shown in the episode ‘A Nightmare On Killmotor Hill!’, Violet also really likes reading books. So, Violet has an analytical mind and wants to study magic. And I think that the superpower Violet would get from an akumatization because of that would be the power to detect and scan magic anywhere near her. And the way I think this power will work is that it will not only give Violet the power to detect magic but also the power to scan and analyze it which will also allow to determine if it’s magic from a fairy, magic from a genie, etc.
Now, I’ll be going over what superpowers Drake Mallard AKA Darkwing Duck might get from an akumatization. As shown and stated in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Drake Mallard looked up to the in-universe TV show version of Darkwing Duck because of how he always gets back up no matter how many times he was beat up, blown up or electrocuted. And, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous!’, Drake Mallard still at least tried to put up a fight against the Fearsome Four despite the fact that he was initially scared earlier. So, I think that the superpower that Drake Mallard will get from an akumatization might be the power of Impact Absorption And Redirection. That would be the power that would be the most handy in the kinds of in the types of situation I mentioned above. However, I think that Drake Mallard will only use that power if it’s absolutely necessary and if there’s no other option left. After all, as I said earlier, Drake Mallard looked up to the in-universe TV show version of Darkwing Duck because of how he always persevered no matter how he was beat up, blown up or electrocuted, not because he repelled any attack that came his way.
For this one, I’ll be going over what superpowers an akumatization would give Gosalyn. As stated in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous!’, Gosalyn’s grandfather was lost in another dimension and Gosalyn wanted to bring him back. So, I think that the superpower an akumatization will give Gosalyn might be the power to create and also close portals to other dimensions. That would be a very ideal power to help Gosalyn search for her grandfather. I know that it was also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous!’ that Gosalyn destroyed the Ramrod and thus closed its portal since it was unstable and was gonna destroy the entire universe. But since, as shown throughout the Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug And Chat Noir TV series, the akumatized people never lost control over their powers, I don’t think that will be an issue. After all, this would mean that Gosalyn would have complete control over her portals and they would thus always be stable.
Finally, I’ll be going over what superpowers an akumatization might give Zan Owlson. As shown in the episode ‘The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!’, Zan Owlson wanted to help people and wanted Glomgold Industries to put people above profits. Also, as shown in the episode ‘The Richest Duck In The World!’, Zan Owlson got fed up with Duckburg’s billionaires because she believed that all they cared about is money and power. So, I think that the superpower Zan Owlson will get from an akumatization is the power to take someone’s powers and transfer them to someone else. The part about taking someone’s powers would come from the part of Zan Owlson that is frustrated with billionaires who she believes only uses their wealth for selfish reasons since that part of her would also want that power taken away from them. And the part about transferring said powers to someone else would come from the part of Zan Owlson that wants to help people since that part of her would also want them to have the power to get back up after being knocked down.
