okay now I really need a drink. Arguing with my mom about christian nationalism and whether or not I deserve to exist messed me up about 20% (I'm used to it) but then my landlord let my dogs out at like noon in 100+ F degree heat and left them outside for THREE HOURS with no water. 🫠
I checked the camera and saw all my dogs were gone—and had been gone for several hours—started freaking out. Frantically texted the landlord until he finally got over there and let them back in. They immediately ran to the water bowl. All I asked him to do was let them out to potty for 5 minutes.
anyway, vacations are so great. I'm so relaxed.
Every time my landlord comes by my house he's like "how do you have so much shit?" and I have to be like "facebook marketplace. You know this."
Not my fault I'm a maximalist and bro's house feels like an empty train station platform. His whole (huge) living room is one couch, a dog crate, guitars on the walls, and a flat screen. Footsteps echo in there.
today in things my landlord does:
Responds to an emergency 12 hours late.
Tells me he's got the repairs covered.
Shows up with a bunch of smelly guys and fixes shit.
Threatens me.
Offers me guitar lessons.
Plays me a song on my guitar.
Threatens me.
Offers to sell me a house.
Leaves.
Heat index of 101 today.
AC started going out, making horrible loud clunking noises and squealing.
fuckass Landlord is ignoring my calls and texts just like he did for the electrical fire and the sinkhole under the house. He's been high as fuck every time I've seen him lately, and yesterday he literally ran away from me in the driveway. I was just going to grab a package. No idea what his deal is.
The sinkhole is still there btw.
Current plan for if the AC fully dies: Buy myself a new one, get some coworkers to help me stick it in the wall, when I finally move—tear it out and sell it and fuck my $500 deposit.
Also... gonna try to buy myself a house ASAP now, even though I think it's a rip-off. Bleeding money for the next 3-5 years beats falling into a sinkhole.
Me: Hey, there's a broken water line behind the shed (my rental house) and water is leaking under the foundation.
landlord in August: I'll have a plumber check it out.
Me: Okay so the plumber didn't fix it.
landlord in September: ....
landlord in November: ....
landlord in December: ....
Me: Hey, that thing is still leaking btw.
landlord in January: ....
landlord in February: ....
Me: Hey, can you fix the broken hose please?
landlord in March: ....
landlord in April: ....
Me in early May: I can literally see a hole under the house and I can't tell how big it is. This is bad. You gotta fix it man.
landlord (high as fuck): here, take this garden hose.
Me: the fuck?
Me, later in May: Hey, I'm seriously concerned about the sinkhole.
landlord: Sink hole? The pig?
Me: THE SINKHOLE UNDER THE HOUSE FROM THE BROKEN WATER LINE THAT'S BEEN LEAKING SINCE LAST JULY.
