March 2, 2022 - Brown-chested Alethe (Chamaetylas poliocephala)
Found in a spotty range across central Africa, these Old World flycatchers are found in forests, often near water and in hilly areas. They eat mostly invertebrates, foraging on or near the ground in dense vegetation, often around ant swarms, and sometimes dropping onto their prey from low perches. They build deep cup-shaped nests from moss, rootlets, and fungus strands in cavities in trees, stumps, or termite mounds. Females incubate the eggs alone. They are classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN but their population is likely in decline due to habitat loss and predation from introduced species.

I would not elaborate, but wine, and saying your crimes to a fucking murderer… sometimes works the charm! But it did end there and then! 😌 (Alethe didn’t know her that much at the time as well must consider this too-)
