The first episode of miniseries Secret Invasion was aired on June 21, 2023. The MCU series was about when Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) discovered that the shape changing aliens the Skrulls had secretly replaced many humans on Earth. MCU regulars who appeared in the premiere besides Jackson included Ben Mendelsohn (Telos), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), and Don Cheadle (James Rhodes). The episode also introduced to the MCU Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, Emelia Clarke as G'iah, Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik, Dermot Mulroney as Ritson, and Tony Curran. The series recieved a lot of negative feedback and was part of the start of decline in MCU popularity in pop culture.
