Jenna Coleman’s Voice Acting

The Secret Garden (2013)

I recently listened to this audiobook, and was yet again amazed by Jenna’s voice acting. She narrates the story brilliantly, and gives each character their own dialect, pitch, and way of speaking. It’s wonderful to listen to, and it has reminded me yet again of what an amazing and beautiful voice she has. So here are some of her other voice acting roles: 

Princess Melia Antiqua in Xenoblade Chronicles (2010)

There has been some discussion recently about Jenna’s role in this videogame, with the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition set to be released in 2020. It is unclear whether any new recording will be made, or whether the old audios will just be reused. And of course it is unknown if Jenna would reprise the role. or whether another voice actress would have to be found to voice Melia. I’ve seen several people exclaim that they would hate for Melia to be voiced by someone other than Jenna. And has anyone noticed that Melia does look quite a lot like Jenna?

Destiny of the Doctor: The Time Machine (2013)

So far the only voice acting Jenna Coleman has done for Doctor Who (besides for the Lego Dimensions game). It remains to be seen whether she will at some point return to Big Finish, but at the moment that seems relatively unlikely. Earlier this year she said she didn’t intend to return to Doctor Who. But she didn’t specify whether that applied to the entire Doctor Who franchise, or merely to the main show. She hasn’t done any voice acting in the last few years, so I think it’s unlikely. I however think she would consider returning to Doctor Who audios if she were to work together with either Matt Smith or Peter Capaldi.

Marble Statue, Monologue by Jacqueline Wilson (2014)

In August 2014, Jenna Coleman lent her voice to a marble statue in the Manchester Central Library, for an exhibition aiming to bring statues to life, by associating them with text that was read out by actors. Scanning a barcode at each statue started playing the recording.

Lego Dimensions: Doctor Who (2015)

Jenna portrayed Clara Oswald in this Doctor Who themed lego game. In her interview during the Graham Norton Show earlier this year, Jenna said that her lego character looks really angry. I would have to disagree on that one though, lego-Clara looks great!

Thunderbirds Are Go: Earthbreaker (2016)

Jenna donned an american accent for her guest role as Baines in this episode of Thunderbirds are Go. Once again, her character does slightly resemble her. 

A Christmas Carol (2016)

In this audiobook, Jenna Coleman played Belle, “Scrooge’s past love, that nearly was but never was”. 

Unfortunately, this has been the last voice acting that Jenna has done so far, that we know of (not counting adverts she did for Royal Caribbean and Debenhams). When will she appear in another audio book/video game? Will she reprise her role as Melia?

O que sabemos sobre: Casou-se com Frank Lonbottom. Mãe do Neville Longbottom. Alice e seu marido foram torturados até a loucura com a maldição Cruciatus.

Alice é a caçula de Norman e Emma Fortescue. Norman é um comerciante e Emma sempre trabalhou de casa, como era de costume nas famílias puro-sangue. Apesar de ser de linhagem pura, seus pais ou familiares nunca compraram a ideia purista que as famílias puras mais influentes gritavam aos ventos. Por este motivo Alice cresceu em uma família amorosa e tornou-se uma menina gentil e empática, que cativava a todos que a conheciam.

Sua mãe ensinou-lhe a tocar violino desde bem menina, o que tornou-se seu hobby e atividade preferida até os dias de hoje. Dizia para a mãe que seria a violinista mais famosa do mundo bruxo e os pais a incentivavam, pois para uma idade tão jovem ela já dominava o violino como ninguém. Enquanto cresceu, porém, mudou de ideia. A hostilidade do mundo bruxo aumentava e a vontade de Alice de conter isso e transformá-lo em um mundo melhor para que seus filhos pudessem viver de maneira mais segura era crescente. Por este motivo, desde o terceiro ano, dedica-se a tentar melhorar suas habilidades para tornar-se, assim que se formar, uma Auror. O que mais tarde conseguiu. 

Casou-se com Frank Longbottom nesse meio tempo em que conseguia um lugar fixo dentre os Aurores, sendo ele também um.

What’s happening?

I guess I took the title of my last post too literally; I took an unselfconscious break from blogging here. Books have been read since, hardly any words written, though. I’ve worked a little, helped others out, painted and drew. I feel creative, stuff is happening. As far as writing goes, yeah well. I haven’t done much, but I feel that I’m on my way to remedy that. I’ll be doing some rewriting…
