a/n : so uh I’m posting a lil drabble I guess? just a lil lumax please enjoy. I hope this doesn’t flop.

“Do you love Max?”
This question had haunted Lucas for the past few weeks. A cheerleader had come up to him at a party and asked him if he loved his girlfriend. He’d said yes, of course, he loved her. Of course, he did.
And being himself, this question had, of course, been followed by “do you think she loves you back?”.
Lucas and Max had been dating for around six months, and it had been amazing so far. She was amazing. There was no doubt in his mind that he was in love with her. She completely got on his nerves and was incredibly annoying at times, even he could admit that, she had a fiery temper and she didn’t know how to stop sometimes, she took no bullshit from anyone, ever (exhibit A: during that same party a boy had tried to corner a girl she had English class with, but Max, well let’s just say that she took care of it).
He loved her so much that sometimes it stung. He'd been in love her for a while, He never thought he’d be able to love someone as much as he loved Max.
He’d had crushes on girls, sure, Susan Allan in the fourth grade, Josie Ambrose when he was 12 and then he met Max. They were thirteen when they met and boy was it under strange circumstances. Max had become one of his closest friends before he'd ever played with the idea of them being anything… at all. He trusted her completely and actually deep down hoped she trusted him the same way as he trusted her.
He was the only one that really knew about her dad. They’d spent more nights than he could remember cuddled up in his bed, him brushing his fingers through her hair or stroking her cheek or just watching her and listening to her heartbeat. Her mom was nice but her stepfather was the one he didn’t want her to have to live with. She usually spent two or three nights at his place each week, his parents knew and, thankfully, they didn’t have a problem with it.
He laid in his bed thinking about her, unable to sleep due to completely unrelated reasons when his door opened and a dark creature walked in. Not a creature, he knew that sound. A few seconds later he felt someone slip under his covers.
“Hey,” he whispered into her hair, leaving a small kiss on her forehead,
“Hi.” He could hear that she’d been crying. “Do you want to talk about it?” he slid down on the bed and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. She rested her head on his shoulder, “just Billy, he’s an asshole,” she mumbled, he cupped her cheek, trying to look into her eyes, “what happened?”
“He was just talking shit, like he always is,” she sighed, “and then he started talking about you. So I left. I can’t stand the fact that he thinks he’s better than everyone,” another sigh, “I always sleep better here anyway.”
She cuddled herself into him, letting the last of her tears fall onto his chest. His palm soflty trailed over her face drying her tears and helping her steady her breathing.
“Lucas?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
His breathing hitched and he felt like his heart could burst any moment.
“You what?”
“You heard me,” she breathed into his cheek, where she was in the midst of placing a few soft kisses over,
“I love you too,” he sighed happily, turning his face so he could catch her lips with his, the hand on her waist pulling her even closer.
“I love you so much.”

“The saddest kind of sad is the sad that tries not to be sad. You know when sad tries to bite its lip and not cry and go “no, I’m happy for you!” that's when it's really sad”
-
“Hi Mike” She can't fucking breathe, he looks heavenly. He looks the way he sounded on the phone earlier, soft. He looked happy. “I brought you ice cream! We couldn't decide so we bought four kinds!” he laid the ice cream down on the floor and stretched his (uncontrollably long) hands in the air.
“You didn’t have to buy four kinds, I’m fine with just one” she stood up and walked over to him to greet him, he opened his arms to her, pulling her into a warm embrace. She hugged him back, trying to act as if her heart wasn’t swelling (or aching, she couldn’t really tell the difference at this point) at the thought of his kindness. He ruffled her still damp hair and kept walking into the living room to greet Dustin.
She walked into the kitchen, where Lucas was stationed.
“Did you order already?” she asked him, looking out the window of their tiny kitchen. “Yeah,” he looked kind of sad, kind of like he was trying to hide it from Max that was standing by the fridge, scanning through it to find something to eat, because if Max wasn’t eating she was definitely hungry.
“When was the last time you guys went to the store? There is literally nothing in here!” Max sighed dramatically, not even trying to hide her disappointment. El looked at her, are you for real right now? “I went to the store like two days ago and besides,” she looked over to where Mike and Dustin were engaged in a conversation, “didn’t you just get married yesterday? Don’t you have a ton of leftovers in your fridge?” she looked at her and flashed a joking smile, “my husband literally just bought you four boxes of ice cream, you’re not really allowed to make fun of my eating habits right now, Hopper!” Max kicked her lightly in the shin. She pretended to fall back in pain, laughing and landing on Dustin who caught her, “hi Dusty!” she looked up at him and smiled as he cringed at the nickname, “hi Ellie!” he looked down at her and laughed.
“Uh, guys? Is Will coming over too?” Mike yelled from the living room, “Yeah, I think so. Unless…”
“Unless what?”
Max rolled her eyes at Mike, “unless he’s with Charlie” the redhead said mockingly. Will’s boyfriend Charlie was pretty cool. He was a real artistic type, studying modern art or something. None of them were quite sure. Will seemed happy and to be honest? He deserved it.
He spent nearly every day with him, he would go away for school in a few weeks so they didn't really blame him.
El was about to say something regarding the matter when the doorbell rang.
An overexcited Dustin yelled “Pizza!” and started running towards the door with Max following him swiftly.
The boy that delivered the pizza was only a few years younger than they were, he’d gone to high school with them. He congratulated Max on the engagement to which she smiled and then proceeded to tell him that “we’re actually married now!” then she showed him the ring.
The pizza was great, it almost made her forget the fact that she wanted to puke.
Almost.
“So, you guys want to watch star wars or…” Dustin was sat in front of the tiny tv Lucas had bought off of his uncle a few months ago, looking for a movie to watch, “we also have back to the future, ooh the shining, It’s been a while since we watched that, hasn’t it Max?” He grinned at the redhead that was sitting behind him. She pointed her middle finger at him and scoffed.
“I wasn’t that scared”
“Sure you weren’t,” Mike laughed at the girl in his arms but when she shot him a glare however his smile faded, “I say we go for back to the future, to warm up for the new one!”
“I always forget how much I love that movie,” Dustin was lying on the floor, stationed with a bag of Cheetos and a three musketeers bar next to him (“just let me eat my nougat and I'll let you eat your gross eggos!”) “Wanna watch another one?”
El really disliked this. Her two best friends were married! They’re married to each other. But she’d learned a long tima ago that she’d have to be ok with it if she wanted to keep both her best friends in her life.
Mike and Max were an unlikely couple, to say the least. They both had explosive personalities which caused them to clash. They fought like crazy when they fought but surprisingly that had never caused them to leave each other. (unfortunately). During their junior prom Lucas lost it at Mike when he’d hurt Max with a snarky comment but at the end of the night, Lucas and El found them in the middle of a heated make-out session behind the school. El felt her heart burn and her stomach sank at the sight.
She’d spent the night at Lucas’ place that night, the first night of many spent making sure Lucas was ok.
“Do you guys wanna stay over? It's like one am and I don't care how good of a driver you are Max, you cannot drive after those two beers you've had” Lucas laughed and Max frowned at him. “Fine. We’ll stay.”
Max and Mike stayed in Lucas’ bed and Lucas stayed with El in her room.
“This feels a bit like old times, huh?” Lucas laughed, reminding El of their high school sleepovers. “I guess,” she laughed too “just promise not to spill Gatorade over my bed like that one time. It turned my sheets blue.” He laughed at the fond memory, “in my defence, you startled me”
She fixed him a look, “sure”, she rolled her eyes jokingly at him, “sure I did.”
Lucas was about to retort with some brilliant comeback, no doubt when the door swung open. Mike’s face peered in. “Are you staying here Lucas?” he asked confusedly.
“Yeah? I am” Lucas was equally as confused. He always slept in El’s room when they stayed over. “Yeah, ok, no, I mean-” Mike stammered. He looked… nervous. There was an emotion in his eyes that she couldn’t quite read. He walked out leaving a confused El and Lucas behind.
“What the hell was that” El whisper screamed at Lucas. “He was… jealous?” El stared at him in shock. Even the notion that Mike was jealous of Lucas staying in her room was absurd, just as absurd as Lucas bringing that up as a reason for him to act strangely. It was just the way that Mike was, sometimes he was a bit out of it, he was probably a bit tired. It was almost two-thirty in the morning and she doubted that he’d gotten a lot of sleep the night before due to reasons she was entirely uncomfortable thinking about.
“Yeah, right,” El scoffed. “Next thing I know he’ll be dumping Max and falling at my feet! ‘Oh El! I was wrong this whole time! You’re the love of my life!” She mocked sarcastically. Lucas rolled his eyes at her.
She threw her pillow at him “shut the fuck up Lucas, he was clearly out of it, you know how he gets when he’s tired!”
“He never stutters, maybe he-”
El’s stomach stung with a feeling she could only recognize as disappointment, “can you drop it?” she whispered.
“I’m sorry, El,” Lucas climbed over the bed and took her into his arms, “It’s ok,” he rubbed her back as she clinged to his taller frame. “You’re my best friend, you know that, right?” she said to him softly, “I thought Max was your best friend”
“You can have more than one, you know that, right?” she peered at him through her eyelashes, “You’re my best friend too”.
-
Someone was shaking her. Why does waking up always involve someone shaking her until she finally wakes up?
“El! You gotta wake up!”
She opened her eyes and sat up immediately when she saw who it was. It was Mike. Mike with a tear stained face.
“Mike, what’s wrong?” she reached for a hoodie and put it on while he caught his breath. “Can we go for a drive?” was all he could say back.

A/n : so, I know it's been a few months and that was definitely not planned, I'm sorry about that. All that being said, I hope to get a new chapter out soon, hope you liked this one!
description: Since the beginning of time (or at least as far as El Hopper can remember) the town of Hawkins, Indiana has been split into two sides, north and south. With two rival High schools, Hawkins high and Clearwater high, she can't imagine ever being associated with someone from the neighbouring school.
Little does she know that she'll soon get to know a boy who will make her forget all about that.

*author’s note: this fic might include a whole lot of Romeo and Juliet references, but mark my words when I tell you, Mike and El are smarter than they are so despite the fact that Romeo and Juliet die, Mike and El most certainly will not.
Chapter one - there’s a fine line between love and hate
You know those times you're sitting in class, staring at the clock, as if it'll go any faster if you stare at it.
Mike Wheeler liked biology, well… he usually liked biology, but at this very moment, he didn't want anything more in the world than for it to end.
On the other end of town, in another school, El Hopper was sat down staring at the clock in her classroom, the sound of her English teacher's voice merely a background sound. She was waiting for the class to be over. For the bell to ring to signal that it was 12:30 and that it was finally lunch.
“You can only imagine how they must have felt, Romeo and Juliet, having to hide their love from the world, scared that if their friends or families found out they'd be forced to leave each other,” Mrs Phillips was a great teacher, she really was, but she seemed to be a big fan of tragic love stories. In Els opinion, Romeo and Juliet were quite stupid. It wasn't their fault, they were merely innocent victims of their own story, but at the same time she couldn't help but think about how weird it is to die because of a boy that you've only known for a few days, a week at the most. She didn’t really understand why people wrote grand love stories, of tragic deaths and everlasting love. Why on earth would you sacrifice everything you have just to feel love, to be with someone for eternity. She didn’t think she’d ever fall in love. Every single boy in Hawkins High was repulsive to her, she’d only ever had a crush on one boy, but he went to Clearwater high and there was no way she’d ever date anybody that lived on the north side of Hawkins. It was an unwritten rule of Hawkins, Indiana. The North and Southside didn’t interact.
El was snapped out of her thoughts all too suddenly by a light kick to her shin. She looked in the direction of the person who had kicked her, ever so impolitely in the shin. A red-haired girl and a boy wearing a terrible bandana on his head laughed at her. She rolled her eyes and tried to listen to her teacher ramble on about how teenage love is the strongest force on earth, nothing will ever stop it or destroy it.
The bell rang. A faint “the bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do!” could be heard through the students rushing out to get to lunch. Now if it were any other day she would’ve just gone to lunch with her friends but it wasn’t any other day. It was Wednesday and on Wednesday she went to Benny’s diner and had waffles. For free. None of the kids from either Hawkins high or Clearwater high went to Benny’s for lunch and for that El was grateful.
She rushed outside to her bike and hurried as fast as she could to the diner. The second she walked inside she was met with the usual smell of french fries and the sound of burgers sizzling on the grill.
She was met with a couple of hellos from the staff when she sat down at the counter where the owner, Benny, was pouring himself a cup of coffee. “Hi Ellie,” he smiled “the usual Wednesday?” he had already started writing her order; waffles with ice cream, a chocolate milkshake and a small fries to the side. “You know me so well” she smiled at him.
She stood up and started walking towards her regular booth, she sat down and took her assigned reading for her English class, Romeo and Juliet, out of her bag.
“Hey, El!” Benny yelled from the kitchen, snapping her out of her book,
“what?”
“So last week there was a boy here for lunch, Mike, I think his name was. That Nancy Wheeler is his sister. You know him?”
“I’m pretty sure that he goes to Clearwater, I've never seen him at school.”
She wasn't pretty sure, she was certain. She knew who he was. He was the cute kind of nerdy. She'd seen him at the library, sometimes with two of his friends, one curly haired boy, slightly shorter than Mike and a lot more talkative. Then there was another boy as well, Will Byers. He was smaller than both of them and a lot more soft-spoken and quiet. She'd never spoken to any of them, god forbid she speak to a northsider.
She turned back to her waffles and the book, which was boring her to death, really, took a sip of her milkshake and looked out the window.
Speak of the devil and he appears, right? Perhaps not but at this very moment, none other than Mike Wheeler was hopping out of his beat-up jeep right outside the diner. El frowned. Why is he here?
The bell above the door rang as he walked in, El slouched down into her booth, still eyeing him (only slightly thinking about how cute he looked). Despite El trying not to make eye contact he turned to her. As soon as he saw her his eyes darted away, only for him to mumble something to himself and look back up, more determined this time he started to walk towards her booth until he was standing on the other side of the booth.
“Hi?” El didn't really know what to say, he was just standing there and kind of staring at her.
“Hi, uh- y-you're Jane Hopper, right? Sheriff's daughter? You go to Hawkins High?” he seemed incredibly nervous. El was amused.
“Yeah, I go by El, actually” she kept on eyeing him as he sat down in the booth, now sitting opposite of her.
“How does Jane become El? I don't, I mean- that doesn't,” He stuttered before taking a deep breath “It doesn't make sense”
“Doesn’t need to, does it?”
“It does not, and that's not why I'm here”
She took a sip of her milkshake.
“Well?”
“You write, right?” He looked as if he'd regained some of the confidence he'd walked in there with,
“Yeah, I mean sure, I write sometimes,” she was really confused as to why he was there, why he even knew her name and how he knew about her writing, “What’s it to you?”.
“I need your help with something”. He smiled at her, flashing his pearly white teeth at her.
“Isn’t Nancy Wheeler your sister? Isn't she a journalist for the New York Times or something? I'm sure she can help you more than I can,”
He laughed. “Well, that's the problem, she lives in New York, and…” he trailed off. She scoffed.
“And what?”
“And she didn't go to Hawkins High.”
“What is this thing you need my help with?” El was actually quite flattered that he'd come to her for help.
“I’m supposed to write an essay on something that I a) don't know and b) get help from an insider, and obviously I thought of Hawkins high, a school that I don’t really like but I also don’t really know anything about” (damn those beautiful eyes). The only reason that she'd say yes is that if she doesn't she's doomed to spend her time with Max and Lucas who spend more time staring at each other than being with El.
“Sure. I'll help you,”
“Really? Thanks”
“On one condition though,” he sighed. She smiled.
“You won't tell anyone that I'm the insider”
He smirked to himself, then he moved his hand toward her and shook it.
“You’ve got yourself a deal, Hopper”.
When Mike pulled over in the Clearwater high parking lot he felt an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment. He talked to a cute girl and she'd even laughed with him.
When he walked in he was still on his little happiness high. He walked over to his locker, where Will and Dustin stood, pouring over their copies of the lord of the rings.
“Mike! Where have you been?” Dustins’ voice cracked the tiniest bit and Will hid a tiny laugh behind a cough.
“I was working on the new project” he beamed.
“Where? Haven’t seen you at all today”
“Bennys’ diner, great fries”
El Hopper went to sleep that night with a warm, fuzzy feeling in her stomach, the thought of dark almost-curls freckles and a smile that probably hadn’t left her face since a certain someone had left the diner during lunch. Even her dad mentioned how happy she looked.
She felt as if everything had changed during one lunch hour, she somehow had a tiny crush on Mike Wheeler, a northsider. Shit. This could not end well for either of them.
Little did she know that on the other side of town, in another neighbourhood, Mike Wheeler was laying in his bed, playing with the thought of a curly-haired and brown eyed girl. Of high-waisted jeans worn with a band t-shirt (the clash, yes! She listens to the clash!) and a pair of dirty converse shoes, of eating waffles and french fries on Wednesdays at a certain diner in the middle of the highway. A blue bike parked out front and the smell of strawberries and cinnamon (gingerbread, he’d thought). Mike felt as if he could drown in her smile, be blinded by her light, and somehow, when he thought about it, he didn’t mind at all.
It's @elliehops 's birthday today! So I wrote this lil covinsky thang for you hun, hope ya like it babe <333 happy birthday! Here you go :
There's no one like you, Peter Kavinsky
Description : Peter's side of some of his and Lara Jean's defining moments. (Aka things from Peter's perspective)
Just a short lil drabble that I wasn't going to post but oh well, here I am.
Disclaimer! : I don't own any of these characters, because let's face it. If Peter Kavinsky were my creation I would be so much better off.
------- ’-,
To Peter Kavinsky, Lara Jean Song Covey was a mystery. A gorgeous mystery.
In seventh grade they'd kissed. Ok, it was spin the bottle and yes, he knew that Gen was supposed to be the one he wanted to kiss and all that but the girl he really wanted to kiss was Lara Jean. He didn't know is what it was but he'd always liked her, she'd been in the back of his mind. He wasn't always aware of her but she remained present throughout his middle school experience.
Then enter high school and they're in two completely different friend groups and any hope there was left for them to ever be had gone from some to none. He started dating Gen. Even though this meant that he couldn't actively seek out Lara Jean's company, he could still think about it. Right? Well…. Apparently he can't. (See our friend Gen here found his book.
“Lara Jean Covey? Seriously? She has a bigger section than I do?” Gen said furiously, holding the book in her hand. )
What book, you may ask?
Long story short ; Lara Jean was the second girl in his book.
Let me explain.
Just like Lara Jean had her letters, Peter had his book, each girl got one or two sentences written about her. Except for Lara Jean. She had twelve pages. So far.
(Gen had about a third of a page filled. All it said was : kind of a bitch, but a great kisser)
Right now Peter doesn't talk to Lara Jean an awful lot. He mostly just apologises for Gen's (terrible) behavior towards her and Chris. He didn't really get why Gen was so mean to Lara Jean, to anyone really.
When he went to apologize to her, (he was actually pretty impressed with her outfit, it was hot) it was like he noticed her for the first time in years.
She was wearing these really cool boots and all, he really liked them. He loved Lara Jean's fashion sense. She definitely had a better one than Gen, that's for sure. Gen was still wearing UGGs.
Even though he was dating her and people seemed to think he was stupid, he wasn't stupid enough not to see how mean, self centered and straight up rude she was to well, everyone.
-
When he received the “love letter” from Lara Jean he couldn't believe that it was real. She'd always be an afterthought, the one girl he'd never have.
But now that he knew, well…. He didn't know what to do.
When he confronted her about it, she passed out. Then she kissed him.
Of course he was taken by surprise, Lara Jean was kissing him! He didn't know how to react at first and then when he had realized what he had to do, well… the moment was over. And she ran away.
-
The third time they kiss is on the lacrosse field. This time he kisses her. Even though it's fake, he still feels a whole lot more than he ever has with any other girl.
When he kisses her in the hot tub, his entire body feels like it's on fire. This is definitely real. They're not fake anything at this point.
“There’s no one like you, Covey”, she's soft and sweet and beautiful and most importantly she's real. She's just Lara Jean and he's just Peter.
So he decides that Gen is over. Well, he'd realized some time ago that she wasn't it for him anymore. Maybe she'd never been.
It's been a couple months and Peter kavinsky and Lara Jean are dating. Finally. It's real this time. No fake dating, no Gen.
“Hey, you know that song you're always listening to?” Peter says one day while they're studying. “Which one?”
“the lauv one” , why does she make him so nervous? “Just wanted to tell you that I like me better right now.” Lara Jean looked up from her book and into his eyes, golden specks clear as day from where she was sitting. “And why is that?” , she moved closer, “Because I'm with you”
Lara Jean Covey is Peter Kavinsky’s girlfriend. She's his girl and as long as she'll have him he's hers.
A/n : I love them, so much definitely going to write better, longer pieces on them. Ya know ones that actually make sense :)
always one step behind, Wheeler ( a mileven superhero/supervillain au)
Mike wheeler (aka the paladin) is a detective during the day and a friendly neighborhood protector in the evenings. He only ever scares off a few teenagers but after a few rough nights on the job he starts to notice a pattern.
Blood left on the scene but no one is left hurt or even bleeding. Things that no one should be able to move having been moved, locked doors and top secret files been opened.
El Hopper, formally known as Jane Hopper is Hawkins’ resident telekinetic. She works at a bookstore across the street from the police station, where her father is the sheriff. When she notices people disappearing, no one else does. So she takes matters into her own hands. She can save them.
You’re gonna be the one that saves me - a mileven rebel au
-
To say that everything would be the same would be unfair and totally obscene, there are things that change you forever and fighting interdimensional monsters and then saving the world is one of them.
But in some sense, some weird, twisted way they knew that it wasn’t over. None if it was, perhaps it never would be normal again. Maybe… maybe this was simply the beginning of something bigger, something that would make everything they’d done look like the smallest detail.
These were all facts that they all had to face, one way or another. And they all knew that this day would come.
Just not today.
-
Let’s assume that It was January. About halfway through the month, maybe the fifteenth or sixteenth. Let’s also assume that neither of them thought anything bad would happen. We all make assumptions. Look, i just made one for you.
Well, to be fair, nobody thought anything bad could happen at this point. It’s been three years since they saw him die.
Summary : El Hopper finds herself at the wedding of her best friend. Unfortunately he's marrying the wrong girl.
-
El Hopper had been in love with her best friend for what seemed an eternity.
Her best friend had been in love with her other best friend for 5 years. Though you could argue that 5 years isn’t long enough to fall in love, move in together, buy a fucking car and, yeah! you guessed it, propose to each other at the exact same time because WOW THAT’S SO ROMANTIC I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU MIKE!
Her body shook and if you look closely she was quite possibly floating just a tiny bit in the air, though you couldn’t see it because thankfully her maid of honour dress was long enough for the skirt just to lift a bit and not expose her.
The wedding was beautiful. They had a flower theme, Max wore a pretty, flowy, light pink wedding dress, flowers in her hair. Mike wore a classic black suit and tie, his tie was the same light pink colour as Max’s dress.
The ceremony had been equally as beautiful, with declarations of everlasting love, in sickness and in health, whatever may come they'll always stay together.
Pathetic.
The organist started to play. The song was a familiar one, a painfully familiar one.
“Every breath you take
Every move you make”
El stood at the front, a little to the left of the altar, as Max walked in, accompanied by none other than her father.
El felt a twinge of jealousy. She looked to the other side of the altar to a smiling Will, proud looking Dustin, Steve, almost crying and Lucas. Poor Lucas. Looking up because he can't bear the sight of Max getting married to someone else. She's happy. That's all he thought he needed.
El and Lucas shared a meaningful glance. It'll be over in a minute, hold the tears. We'll be ok. It's ok.
Mike looked over at his bride and gasped at the sight before him. Wow.
The bride made it to the altar, where the priest read his part,
“Do you, Mike Wheeler, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do.”
“And do you, Max Mayfield, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“Hell yes! I do.” Max answered characteristically.
“You may now kiss the bride”
Mike put his hand in her waist and pulled her into the kiss, smiling into it. Max pulled him to herself and wrapped her hands around his neck, sighing into his embrace. You couldn't see a dry eye in the church, Joyce wept into Hopper's side, who also let a few years fall down. Nancy watched her brother, truly happy and smiled, next to a ten year old Holly Wheeler (who didn't really understand this whole thing). Claudia Henderson could be seen, sitting beside Karen Wheeler, using her dress as a tissue.
At last you could see El Hopper standing by her best friend, starting to tear up. And people will long tell the story of how beautiful it was when Mike went in to hug El, his best friend and Max joined in, soon enough the whole party was locked in an embrace. El nearly sobbing into Mike or Max or whoever she was next to and Lucas clenching his fists to keep from lashing out. A lovely ceremony.
As soon as El got to her tiny apartment, she broke down. She cried, locking the door and sliding down the wall. Holding herself because if she doesn't who's going to do it for her? Not Mike, that's for certain.
And she cried for a couple of minutes. Laid on the floor and sobbed. Every time she thought it was over she remembered the way he looked at her and broke out in a fit of sobs.
She looked at the clock, 1 pm. She had thirty minutes to change into the dress that she'd picked out for the party, and do her make-up again, since the make-up she'd been wearing was ruined from her tears. She put on the dress, wiped her face and applied her make-up again. She took one final look in the mirror.
It's going to be ok. You're going to be ok.
Her doorbell ringed.
“Hello?” she answered
“Hi! We're here, you ready for the party?” Dustin's excited voice sounded from the doorphone.
“Be there in a sec! Bye!”
She gathered herself, took the present she'd bought and walked towards Dustin's Jeep. She sat down in the backseat, next to Lucas, looking out the window.
She could already feel the tears that her eyes were going to be filled with the rest of the night, her heart ached, the way she knew it would for the rest of her life.
“my poor heart aches,
with every step you take”
“El, are you going to be ok?” Lucas whispered, his voice shaky.
She put her hand on his shoulder and pulled him in for a hug,
“We'll get through this together Lucas, it's going to be ok” she felt him shake, trying his best to not grab the attention of their friends in the front seat.
She dried Lucas's tears with a tissue she'd kept in her purse and hugged him one last time before getting out of the car.
Ships : mileven, lumax (basically all the canon ships)

Hawkins, Indiana is experiencing It's coldest winter ever (at least It feels that way), but at least It’s safe.
Everything is back to how it used to be, El is.. well, she's home and doing great.
The cabin Isn't as isolating as it was, It's mostly a hangout spot for the party. And sure, this wasn't an ideal situation, but El was allowed to go to school (finally) and Mike was happy, which let Lucas and Dustin breathe easy and for Will that meant he could go on with his life unbothered. And Max? Never Better.
She and El had clicked the second they had sorted out their differences.
To say that everything would be the same would be unfair and totally obscene, there are things that change you forever and fighting interdimensional monsters and then saving the world is one of them. But in some sense, some weird, twisted way they knew that it wasn't over. None if it was, perhaps it never would be normal again. Maybe... maybe this was simply the beginning of something bigger, something that would make everything they'd done look like the smallest detail.
These were all facts that they all had to face, one way or another. And they all knew that this day would come.
Just not today.
It started out like any normal Friday.
Mike woke up and got ready for school. He waited for Hopper, who dropped El off at his place every morning so they could walk to school. They got to walk together because it was safe and for the first time in years they could both just be together without being afraid.
“Now, look kid,” Hopper turned to El “This is the first day of the semester and I want you to be focused on your grades first, ok?”
She sighed.
“Yes dad” “And remember what we talked about?”
Another sigh - “I am under no circumstance allowed to use telekinesis whatsoever, I-”
“Need to be safe and powers aren’t safe” Hopper cut in, drawing her into an affectionate half hug, El felt all her previous anxiety and nervousness melt away.
“I’ll be safe, dad. Will you let me walk to school now?” she said, starting to grow impatient,
“Sure kid”
She got out of the car and waved her dad goodbye.
“And remember to tell Wheeler to keep his hands to himself!” Hopper yelled teasingly out the window as he drove away.
After her dad drove off she turned to the Wheeler house, only to see a beaming Mike walking towards her. She could never get tired of that smile, or the way his hair fell perfectly into his face, or his freckles or-
“El! “ she heard someone yell behind her, followed by the feeling of being tackled into the snow. That was of course her best friend, partner in crime, number one accomplice, the one and only : Max Mayfield. (Obviously followed by Dustin).
Max and Dustin had developed a close friendship during the three years, after accepting that Max probably wouldn’t ever like him back, Dustin decided to make the best of it and since then they’ve been nearly inseparable, and it turns out, they're really good at being friends. She taught him how to skateboard.
Standing up from the ground and pulling El up with her, Max noticed Mike “heart eyes” Wheeler still walking towards them.
“Might want to reel your tongue back in there Wheeler,” Lucas's voice suddenly filled their ears “you could catch a cold„
“Yeah, I heard of this guy that got an infection that way” Will said, suddenly appearing behind Lucas, a wicked grin on his face.
“That means nothing coming from you, you're totally whipped as well for Mayfield over there!” Mike yelled back with an eat-my-shit smile on his face.
“Yeah, whatever”
-
“Mr Edward's classes are honestly the worst” El sighed, walking out of her fourth period history class with Will.
“They’re not that bad when you think about it, actually”
“It probably wouldn't be if we actually did something other than taking tests and writing notes, I want t-“ She didn't get to finish the sentence.
“Well, if it isn't my favourite pair of dwarfs! How was your Christmas break, fairy? Fly away to another fairyland to meet all the other queers? ”
“I've broken your hand once and I'll do it again, Troy” El practically growled at him before Will could say anything, she could feel her heart beat faster by the second.
“That was three years ago, you haven't got anything on me princess”
“Wanna bet?”
“No you don't”
Just before El could launch herself on him she was caught by four pairs of hands, those being, of course, Mike, Lucas, Max and Dustin.
“Leave us the fuck alone, dickface” Max spat at him, holding a fuming El by the waist, holding her in place.
“Can’t you just drop it?” Mike growled at Troy, looking like he could just snap at any minute and attack him.
“Why would I, when it's so much fun to see your girlfriend get all riled up” he said, some sort of cocky grin forming on his face, while they walked away from him.
“Don’t answer him, just walk away” Max whispered to her friends, fastening her pace out of the hallway and making sure Troy saw her flip him off, Lucas wrapping a protective hand around hers.
“Thanks for saving us, I guess,” El mumbled quietly to the group once they got to the cafeteria, “Sorry Will„.
“It’s just Troy being a jerk like always” Mike said, planting a chaste kiss on El’s head as they picked out their lunch, “I’m just glad you didn't get hurt”
“You are forgetting that I could take on Troy any day of the week, I'm stronger than all of you combined….” El trailed off quietly shooting Mike a small, knowing smile.
“God, you are such a sap” Dustin chuckled as they sat down underneath the bleachers outside the school, their only one-hundred-percent safe place from other people.
It wasn't that they weren't safe, they just liked being alone, together.
-
It happened during sixth period. She was talking to Max and Mike about homework or some other miniscule subject.
Suddenly uniform clad men busted into the classroom, “Jane Hopper, you must come with us”
Fuck
Suddenly a state of panic and fear was brought over her, so she ran.
She broke a window and jumped out, ran as far as she could.
Of course she couldn't get away, they had clearly thought for everything.
From inside the classroom she could see Mike and Max in the window, Max crying on Mike's shoulder, screaming at the teacher to do something. You could almost see Mike's heart break and then the tears came, anger knowing he couldn't do anything, she was already gone.
That was the day that El Hopper learned that if she wanted to be saved she'd have to save herself. That day Mike Wheeler broke, Max Mayfield learned what missing someone really felt like, Dustin Henderson learned that loneliness can be felt even amongst people, Lucas Sinclair's biggest fears had come true and Will Byers learned that maybe evil never dies.
Let's assume that It was January. About halfway through the month, maybe the fifteenth or sixteenth. Let's also assume that neither of them thought anything bad would happen. We all make assumptions. look, i just made one for you.
Well, to be fair, nobody thought anything bad could happen at this point. It's been three years since they saw him die. At least they thought they did.
