This was a lovely book. A very captivating story for the most part. That being said, some of the details (though necessary for illustrative purposes) made the story move along rather slowly. As such, I found it took me much longer to read the 368 pages of this book than it would normally take me to read a book of similar length. The last 100 pages definitely moved much faster and I couldn't put the book down until I finished.
I loved the growth of every character, so subtle yet vital to the story. My favourite consistent character was definitely Malik. I loved it when he told Parvati to take her shooes off. I was also totally waiting for more of Lakshmi and Dr. Kumar after the second glance and I loved how that played out in the end. Also, although I've always wanted to visit Jaipur, I very much would love to visit Shimla too.
I really enjoyed reading this book at the same time as my mom
Great read! Highly recommend.
