a Black-owned coffee shop near me has indoor masked seating, so i drove over here around 9am to get some work done before a LinkedIn coffee date at 1pm. I am almost done (sort of) studying for ochem so I can complete this problem set due monday. Now, I’m taking a break by reading for Music and Film. We love to see it!

if any other academics needed validation: school is tough but you got this

yep, school is hard. its a grind. its a full time job and some of us even have actual jobs on top of this academic job. it’s not easy at all. but, in times of trial and tribulation (like me crying over math yesterday, me failing classes in the past, getting rejected from internships or other academic extracurriculars you’re excited for), we have to remember our why. remember the reason you started this journey, the feeling learning something new gives you. the rush of excitement when you figure something out. that sense of accomplishment when you write that prolific paper that’s gonna win a nobel prize or a pulitzer. or a freaking degree lmao.

finding meaning in everything, the highs and the lows, will keep you going. for if you know your why and stay true to it, you can face any how.

and just like that, i'm back in the groove. wednesdays always seem to be jampacked for me, but! part of that is my fault lol. its alright, makes the weekend come quicker.

there's only like .. a month left of the semester, can you say EXCITED??? i can say excited

good news: if my summer research internships all say no to me, i actually secured individual funding for the summer! so either way, im set to continue research <3

studying for ochem is kinda fun honestly, but sometimes, it is frustrating lol. im not even going to lie. however, it has to be done so i can improve my exam scores andddd so i can really learn the material. gotta work a little so i can ball a lot (thanks Tom Haverford)

today i present my research at a McNair Scholars conference and thennn i’m treating myself to new makeup! the goal is to finish my foundation before it expires lolol. hope everyone had a great week and has a great weekend!

organic chemistry II has become my life, i swear! i'm so close to an A in this class, so i'm really trying to push full steam ahead. i also bombed my heat and mass exam, but i really expected nothing less lolol.

organic chemistry, back and betta than evaaa. i sat down to do our problem set for this unit and i was NOT ready so instead, i'm going to study and get this problem set done either later today or monday! there's no point in getting frustrated when you can just 1. adapt the plan and 2. give yourself grace!

things may feel urgent and that they absolutely need to get done rn but take a step back and really evaluate what has to get done. is it urgent or is it a self-imposed deadline? just some food for thought.
