this story is based on an ask i got when i was asking for prompts (please send more prompts) and I'm finally getting around to it. so here it is! no content warnings this time, enjoy to your heart's content.

the girl opened her eyes. she sat up and looked around. she was laying on a park bench. the area just behind her, through the buildings, was a totally empty void. she shuddered slightly and turned back around. she stood up and stretched. she looked at her hands. human. she sighed.

she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. in a moment, she found herself much shorter. she looked down at her hands. covered by sleeves. perfect. she opened wide and launched her worm self into the air. she flew quietly around the city, looking at the faces of the people. finally, she saw a real face. it belonged to a girl with fiery red hair. she was snoring loudly on a bench a few blocks from where nagisa had woken up. kyoko was her name, she thought.

no. kyoko was too... well, she had a thing with food. nagisa was here for cheese, and kyoko would be liable to get upset at her... eating habits. she shook her head and continued flying. she caught a glimpse of homura, already awake and around. she seemed to be looking for something. nagisa quickly hid herself before she looked up, and thought about her remaining options.

madoka. no, she wanted to put a bit of distance between herself and the goddess. no reason to be too close.

sayaka. she couldn't stay together with the other one that had the goddess' memory, that could be dangerous. if nothing else, it would be suspicious at the end of it all.

hitomi? no, it wouldn't fit for a witch to live with a non-magical girl.

that left one option. she turned and headed directly for mami's apartment.

after a short flight, she glided into a gentle landing just outside the building. she looked at the passers-by. faceless, the lot of them. she shuddered internally. she never liked the strange not-quite-familiars of the labyrinth, but there were so many here she couldn't just ignore them. instead, she reverted to her doll form and climbed to a balcony a floor up from the entrance to the building, and waited.

she didn't wait long. after about a minute, a girl with stunning yellow hair fashioned into two drills left the building, and started walking down the street. this was her chance. she waited a few more seconds, then mustered a gust of wind to carry her down. she carefully, very carefully maneuvered so the wind carried her directly into mami's back. she collided exactly on target and spun through the air, crashing with a quiet thump into a nearby fence. the wind died down and she slowly dropped to the pavement. she looked up as mami approached her.

"Well, aren't you a cute little thing?" mami picked nagisa up, and nagisa instinctually grabbed hold of her arm, almost like a hug. she opened her mouth to speak, and despite intending to use Japanese, Runic came out instead. "cheese?"

this was an interesting development. normally Runic was reserved for witches - which, technically, nagisa was right now - but nagisa thought this might be an exception. apparently not. but to her surprise, mami responded. "You want cheese? I think I have some in the fridge..."

nagisa nodded her head. "cheese! cheese! want cheese!"

"Let's get you some cheese, then. And maybe a new outfit..." mami held the witch in the crook of her arm and carried her inside. "Do you have a name, little baby?"

nagisa inhaled as if to speak, then paused. she couldn't very well call herself charlotte, homura would get suspicious too quickly. she similarly couldn't go by nagisa. so she did what she thought best and shook her head.

"Then I shall call you Bebe. Is that okay?"

nagisa smiled to herself and nodded. that sounded okay to her.

IT’S FINALLY DONE AAAA now some things…YEAH I AM AWARE THE GIANT VISIBLE WATERMARKS TOO. I wasn’t gonna pay ten dollars to get rid of them. AND YES I KNOW HOW BAD THIS IS. The ending clip cuts off, the editing is really bad, and the timing isn’t even correct at times. I’m sorry, I know! But I’m not going back and fixing it..I already spent so long exporting it aaaa- The editing app I used is shitty as hell..both of them are. I had to do it on my phone?? Some of the voices are kinda good but others…ehhhh Someone else already did this, so watch that one. It’s great, the timing and editing is on point, and there’s actual good voices for the characters. uhh the really pretty art of Flicker is by @keiiilalei also Flicker’s says “Kyoko Sakura” for those who can’t see it..didn’t feel like changing font color pffft
