Thank you guys for the love and advice on our last post about #washingtondc! I didn’t share it to complain but to show that traveling with kids isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. Kids are kids. 🤷🏿‍♀️ They get tired, grumpy, overheated, and just plain over it just like the adults do! Address it with a lot of patience, a lot of rest, and plenty of treats. I wish I could sum my husband up into a solid caption for the gram but I can’t. He’s more than just daddy - to his biological daughter and mine - and more than Uncle Phil. He’s our leader, our spiritual advisor, our protector (if you want to test that run up on one of our kids in public 😂), and the cornerstone of this little blended family. Reason #853 that I travel with my kids: Bug noticed that the ceiling in Memorial City Mall in Houston was shaped like the Pantheon in Rome! Phil and I have walked past that thing a million times and never noticed. But she did! We anchored next to these Roman ruins in the little town of Nora, Sardegna 🇮🇹 . In fact, we were warned by fellow sailors to not get to close to the edge of the land. We later found out the reason: a huge portion of the ruins are still under water, 30 ft. below. The sea level has been rising since the building of these ancients architectural marvels in 8th century BC. This site was first occupied by native Sardinians, who lost them to the Phoenicians, then Romans, then the Vandals took over, and finally to Eastern Romans. So much ancient DRAMA. It is pretty cool 😎 to see how different layers of the ruins belonged to different groups of people over the course of time. And of course, Gabe’s favorite part, the Roman baths 🛀that when flushed out, were used to also flush out poop 💩 and pee from the toilets through their sophisticated drainage systems. Genius! #PROUDMOMMOMENT Our littlest one has been traveling since she was an infant and caught the travel bug super fast but it wasn’t until recently that I started explaining to her everyone’s role at the airport. To my delight, she recently declared that she wants to be an airplane pilot! I’m a #WomaninSTEM and have a not-so-secret desire for my girls to follow my footsteps so life = made! ..................... I shared this with our flight attendant on our last flight and not only did she bring them @british_airways goodies but the pilot took them into the cockpit! It’s Monday, right? 👀 #MCM but not what you think. Today it is Milan Crush Monday because I’m totally having Milan withdrawals! What would you do if you weren't afraid? What would you do if you knew you would succeed? What would you do if money were no object?
