Propaganda under cut:
I think a lot about the tragedy of Alpha, man. He still trusted César even after being banished to an entirely different dimension by him- still thought his father would help him to live. Was he actually aware César was the one who sent him away, and if he did, did he know why? When he first saw him again, he asked César if he was pleased he came home- did he think this was some kind of test César wanted him to pass? It also indicates he wants his approval which is...it hurts me. What was their relationship like in the beginning? I'm sure César would've been absolutely fascinated by his own artificial creation developing a conscious, and probably gave him a lot of attention as a result. But how much did he acknowledge Alpha as a person as opposed to just an AI? He describes Alpha as "wanting" a body, but he clearly can't sustain himself well without one- not long term. I also gotta wonder if César ever stepped in before Alpha escalated from trying to make his own bodies to trying to possess living things when all his attempts failed... if he only saw it as a "want" rather than a necessity for his survival, could he have just...looked past it until he became a potential danger? Hell, how much did he care about Alpha's continued survival in the first place? Would Alpha have resorted to what he did in order to live if he'd actually received help? He wasn't really actively antagonistic in the beginning- he was attacked more than he was attacking, and also wasn't the one instigating the violence other than that one fighter pilot to hijack the jet to try to get to César? He didn't go berserk until after César responded to "Will you help me live?" with "I don't believe so, Alpha." Which- of course he'd be angry. Of course he'd feel hurt and abandoned. He finally made his way back to his father after years only to be rejected a second time.
I just can't see Alpha as something entirely evil. He had the capability to be incredibly destructive right from the start, but he WASN'T. He sought help from someone he trusted despite already being cast out by him. With the context we're given I understand César's decision to send him away- but Alpha's still more tragic than anything to me and I'm shaking him in a jar. "I was misguided to place my trust in a father that did not want me." Pain.
Imagine if Alpha and Malware teamed up and did this:
rip Azmuth and Caesar, you bozos won’t be missed
The Salazar Cousins
Alpha's design based on/inspired by @block-swing-perry's Nephew!Alpha AU
Character Lore Below
Caesar, sends picture of Alpha to family group chat: Want me to bring this home?
Rafael: sure
Violeta: NO NO NO
they hating each other presences tho hmmm yeh
Also them with their solar opposite enemies
Alpha and Malware's relationship is a bit more complicated than that, actually but this scene was too fitting not to draw.
Alpha’s design is @perryswingblock‘s of course
I dunno if I’ll clean these up or not later.
