i have NOWHERE to shoehorn this into the Welcome to Gotham fic but i desperately need people to see it so everybody please imagine the following scenario:
Bruce, son of Athena: I named myself Batman because my worst fear as a child was bats. so i created the symbol of a bat to strike fear into the hearts of criminals so i may one day cleanse the streets of Gotham of all crime forever
Annabeth, daughter of Athena: okay but isn't the spider the worst fear of all children of athena?
Bruce: technically true. they are my number one fear. bats are number two. however i couldn't run around calling myself "spiderman". thats a stupid name
Peter Parker, ten thousand dimensions over, sitting straight up in bed: HEARD SOMEONE WAS TALKING SHIT-
If you'll see me writing a Mafia AU anytime soon (when I'll be feeling better), blame @writingforstraykids
It's entirely her fault, although @silverstarburst and her tattoo pics didn't exactly help either...
Funny story, the night I found and read this comic Luz's guildersnake appeared briefly in my dream except it was cyan
Hunter: Hey Luz, I was gonna– what are you doing.
Luz, with eyebags as big as Hunter’s, surrounded by glyph paper: Did you know there’s a beast keeping spell that changes the pigmentation of any animal’s skin, fur or scales.
Hunter:
Luz: It’s typically used for marking livestock. Eber told me about it.
Hunter: ... so you’re trying to find the glyph–
Luz: I’m trying to find the glyph combination for it so I can make Backup COLORFUL–
Sebastian: Are your bosoms tender?
Mey Rin: I’m gonna pretend that you didn’t just ask me that.
Sebastian: Are your senses.. heightened?
Mey Rin: I think I might be pregnant, not bitten by a radioactive spider!
Mrs. Danvers: *dies
Mrs. Danvers: *arrives in hell
Hades, *checks list: "so you burned down a house."
Mrs. Danvers: "yes."
Hades: "and you are a raging homosexual."
Mrs. Danvers, *blushes: "yes."
Hades: "and you told that other lady to jump out a window."
Mrs. Danvers: "yes."
Hades: and you once burned a whole into Mr. de Winter's suit and told him Frith did it."
Mrs. Danvers: "yes."
Hades: "you qualify for eternal punishment."
Mrs. Danvers: ...
Hades: ...
Mrs. Danvers: "what kind of punishment?"
Hades: "Raise this puppy for me, will you?"
Mrs. Danvers:
I don't want to get too excited and to have my hopes crushed but... For the past two days I managed to be able to properly take a time to read. Not just reading a bit in a train and then not picking a book for the next three months. I am actually actively reading. Like I let go of my phone for a hour or two and read. And the words actually make sense. And I can see what I'm reading. The whole world is finally opening inside my mind. I can escape. And it just unlocked something so deep in me. Something that was missing from me for years. And no, I'm not fine and suddenly cured of whatever the hell is wrong with me. But reading has always been my escapism. And yes, I know, escapism is not a solution. But the way I numb myself on a stupid phone, not even liking what I watch... It's so much more destructive. Reading is not. Reading make my brain work, but more importantly it makes me feel peace. And I've felt this emptiness for so long, not being able to connect with the words. Not having the energy. At first it was just, adult life you know, no time, too tired etc. But then it was more. It was because I had no emotional and intellectual energy. But for now it's back. And it's so relieving. I just hope it never leave me. I need to be able to read to feel complete. It's not the book that I'm currently reading that matters, it's the action of reading and the light it brings me.
finished Griftlands story campaign, Smith is the best 😌💚 (although playing him was stressful and I lost a negotiation to a giant snail)
