People in my class: Well, people who are disabled are just so brave. I know some people say pity is bad, but I think it shows that I care. It’s just another form of sympathy you know. *Goes onto joke about how they need extended time because they’re bad at math* 

Me, the only disabled person in the room:

On tv right now: woman, sitting in a chair chatting with a smile, making jokes, moving her arm around gets asked how bad the pain in her arm is on a scale of 1 to 10.

Her: That's a 10. It hurts pretty much. ...

...

When i see things like this, maybe i have to upscale my pain ratings? No wonder no one takes this seriously when i say its a 7, because I'm still up and moving because for me an 8 is like lying in bed not trying to move in any way...

Aah the joint pain survival pack (that doesn’t work and was desperately thrown together). Yes, that’s a cold gel face mask that I strapped to my knees because I can’t get to the freezer in the basement. In other news, I can’t walk because I’m in so much pain.
